New flushing study

Il be straight with you. @Doug Dawson is correct. I am high as fuck and like to joke around.

With a thread title like "Start Flushing Again. New study"......

Maybe the way you posed the situation as giving advise to do it instead of a stance of trying to learn is the reason you are getting so much kick back.

Just a thought.
Now that I look back your right changing the title now. Thx

Some of you need to learn that not everything you do is the right/only way. Plants have a bunch of stored energy so the last two weeks if you’re flushing it’s not “starving”. I just give my plants more water then usual a few weeks before I harvest instead of an actual flush.. I’d never FLUSH (3 times the volume of my pot size) NEVER.
I just use double the amount of water every time I water. I use banana water and molasses the last month or so, so that they fade good and I FEEL like it helps with flavor.
I also snap some branches and crack them and drive nails into them. I also prefer 24-48 hours of darkness before harvest but I rarely do it anymore

Your missing the point bud. I personally taper off my nutes the last couple weeks but don't starve them. It's what I believe, it's what I do. Nobody is telling anyone what to do. I stopped letting people do that what I was 13, well except my wife. She knows where I sleep and has access to my toothbrush. We could go into a debate about the stored food in the leaves and not giving them food so they use up that energy. Than I would just say, but I cut off the leaves off so I don't care what they store. In the end this is a community full of individuals and they are all entitled to their opinion. Don't listen to me, hell don't listen to anyone. Take in all the perspectives, vete those perspectives and form your own opinions. Than prove those opinions right or wrong for yourself. That's the only way true knowledge will be gained. Also try to have some fun while you are doing it, hence the gif of the dog licking the shit etc... In the end, you do you. :peace:

The so called "Fade" is a starving plant. I try and keep mine green until harvest. And no you're not smoking nutes. That's cannabis bro-science.

Don't listen to this guy. He didn't even finish High School.

I get it. I do the same. Taper off the nutes towards the end of flower and I definitely prefer the fade. I did read the study and I know what I do might not be doing much or anything at all but it’s been working fine and most of you overreact. Flushing isn’t a big deal whether you do it or not

Of course you lower nutrients towards the end.

But flushing the substrate and starving the plant vs tapering nutrients are different things. The "Fade" does nothing to the final product. If you have well grown cannabis you'll have a better product if you keep it as healthy and living as possible until the day of harvest.

I flush/flushed my plants but only after I considered them ripe, the notion of starving them at any point isn't the case and never has been for me.
I'm reconsidering flushing for future but that's another story.

Years ago I read that was the done thing so I've done it since, I commented recently about testers never tasting bitter or chemically etc hence reconsidering the whole business, I've got some near ready I'll try it but I suspect I know what the outcome will be.
I've tasted some crap, bitter, nippy, soap like, course as fk!
I thought the lack of flushing caused that, we live and learn though it's part of the fun.

So for conversation's sake, I have a question. This study suggest almost no difference in flushing or not not flushing before harvest, also it is argued that flushing is starving the plants when they need the nutes the most. But it seems many that argue against flushing DO suggest reducing the amount of nutrients closer towards harvest. Why? If the nutes are already in the plant, and this is the most critical time of the plants life, why cut back nutes befor harvest?

So you limit how much the plants take in like a diet. People dont die from a diet but fasting will kill you eventually.
