in the 5 bag system it can I guess . . . . but to get the best bags you need the standard pump for sure.

the standard pump is a necessity.

Both pumps are quite efficient. You can get thick vapor from the high output pump, just fill the crucible.

cant you turn the throttle down on the high output pump? thus making it fill just like the slower stock one?
They will be including a throttle value with the High output pump yes, but IMO, i wouldn't want to turn it down to the normal pumps speed, I would just use the normal pump ;)

daamnn I love this thing so much :D

had it over 2 weeks, love it more and more each day. sturdy, stable, efficient. and pretty quiet too, one of my buddies slept through it when I was running it in the same room (wth the bag function, it can be completely silent if I use the whip function, which I did a couple times but the bag function is the most efficient.)

I get such thick bags that taste so amazing this thing has by far surpassed my expectations.

I got my replacement vapir air one from the company over 2 months later, but atleast it came. it's much much louder. not as accurate, bags don't get quite as thick, but it's decent if you're so poor that you can't afford a 250 dollar vape vs a 150 dollar one that's only going to give you a couple good months of use at max.....

regardless, anyone thinking about buying this, it's 100% worth it.

:bigjoint: Nothing like shoving solid nugs in and getting out amazing bags eh?

Poplars, I totally agree with you man. I don't know how I ever got by without one. I find I use the whip function more than the bags...but I love both.

I've also found the best temperature setting for MOST of my herb is just below 350 (12 o'clock more or less). Sometimes I turn it up a bit at the end...sometimes I don't. It's fun to play with.

Also, I'm amazed every time I cache it out and examine the spent buds. You just shove a dense nug in there and it comes out uniformly cooked every time.

I have a question though...and I may have asked this already but I'm not sure. Can I vaporize bubble hash? I usually put it on top of my buds when I smoke it, so I figure that would probably work for vaporizing too, but I don't want it to drip down into the heating element or anything...

hash wont drip down into the element(as long as you're using the bag function with the pump, whip allows for hash to be heated up, then the stop in air would cause it to drip down, not slowly go up....), but I think bubble hash would probably be the ONLY hash that you can truly vape whole in the herbalaire . . . . if it's true bubble hash as the outside heat contacts the hash it'll transfer quickly to the middle causing it all to vaporize . . . .

so I recommend you put a piece of bud in the bottom of the crucible first, then you put the bubble hash on top of that, then you put another bud on top of that to make sure it stays in place.

make sure it's fitting good in the crucible so that piece of hash is forced to take in all that heat.

also I vape at 375 almost every time and it works great for me.

but another way to do it if you want to be conservative with your bud, is to do a 1/5th turkey bag at 350, then 3/4ths a turkey bag at 375. that shit will get you so high.

also if you find yourself using the whip more than the bags I'd say you're totally missing out on the best functions of this vaporizer!!

go out and buy yourself some Reynolds Turkey Oven Bags...... fashion one up and do a half crucible at 375 . . . . you'll find whole new reason to love this thing.

btw I bought the volcano bags too, I recommend the turkey oven bags because they're less crinkly (that shit is hella loud when you're rolling up a volcano bag!!), only problem is they have a leak at the seam (the other side opposed to the one you hit) so all you have to do is either tape up the other end with electric tape, or fold it over a couple times and tape that down. it's a huge bag that gives you like 16 hits on average, it's awesome.

plus, bag function is just better, the amazing hits in the beginning that taste soo good get diffused with the stoney hits towards the end that seal the deal and get you stoned..

 Hey bud, congrats on your HerbalAIRE!!!! Im going to fill a crucible now to celebrate ;)

Anyway, yes you can throw in the hash, I would just put it near the top of the crucible, so it melts through and all over your herbs, it worked just fine for me ;) You may wish to turn the temperature up a bit when using the hash, because 345 probably wont do it ;)

Im fairly interested you say you get great bags out of under 350. Myself and poplars have come to a conclusion that you can do a few things for this thing to be consistent with its efficiency.

Full crucible - 350 1st bag 375 second bag

Full Crucible - 375 1 bag only (This option gets you faded, quickly :D)

Half crucible - 375 1 bag only - This option lets you use even less, and you still still get a thick bag, just not the milky white vapor you get with a full crucible on full blast ;)

Keep vaping bud, I would love to see some pictures Jerry!

+rep for your herbalaire ;)

I have only had this happen once....and since then I havent let the bag over-fill, and the seam has held up great on the bag I have used since then. As long as your bag doesent overfill, and you dont go rolling your bags up after every single use, youll be ok.

Proper bag storage should be them just pulled longways, like you just hit it, so there is no stress on any seams. I rolled it up to take it to a buddies, then i noticed the bag quality deteriorating, so that has to be it.

Either way, any bag is better than the ones they include ;)

this happens when the bag is allowed to lean over the vape (which is sort of impossible to stop short of holding on to it the whole time.)

I've had this happen with both oven bags I've used. maybe it was just the pack I had, but I doubt it.

I don't overfill my bags ever, if the bag is leaning over, it puts more pressure on the seam as it's filling up, everyone has this problem . . . .

so I really just don't think you can say don't overfill it and you wont have any leaks when I have leaks without overfilling at all at 50% fill there is pressure on the seam if it's leaning down . . . . . .

so you either hold up the bag, or tape the leaks, or fold it so the pressure can't build up at the seam.

You also over use your bags. You used it till it was brown. Replace the bags when they need it, their friggin .99 for 2. I have not had ANY leaks since replacing my first bag, all thanks to not letting it over fill. I let it lay sideways every single time i fill it up, this creates no pressure on the seams. Once it starts to get to 40-50% full, i sit it upright, and it takes care of itself from then, but you dont need to baby this thing along as it fills up ;)

Thanks for the replies gents.

Poplars...while I use the whip often, I use the bags only slightly less frequently. Probably a 60-40 whip to bags thing. One potential downside that I haven't really had to deal with yet is the need for 2 outlets when using both the vape and the pump. It hasn't been a problem yet for me, but I can see how in some situations it might be. Also the cord for the vape is much longer than the cord for the pump...

Regarding the hash, I figured letting it drip its THC goodness all over the buds would be the best bet. The stuff I make using my Sprung bags is true bubble for sure...and damn good too!

I haven't yet needed to get additional bags...I'm still on the first one and it appears to be holding up great. But I'll definitely go with the turkey bags when the time comes.

HfB...350 has been the magic number for me so to speak. If I go much above this I find the buds start tasting burnt...

Another reason I don't go above 350 is the vapor seems to become more smoke than vapor. Maybe the reason I get (what I think are) nice looking bags at this temp is the amount of bud I use. I never really "fill" the crucible, but I do shove good size chunks in. And I'll usually get at least 3 bags before it starts to really taper off.

I'll try and get some pics of the unit in action so you can see what a typical bag looks like for me and what the spent bud looks like afterward. I swear when I examine the bud I can still see trichomes...but the bud will be dark brown!

Either way I love this thing, and it's nice having a couple others out there sharing my view to compare notes with!

I've never experienced /any/ vapor resembling smoke at 375 degrees. the herbalaire is hella accurate in it's temp control.

at 350 you're getting the best tasting bags. at 375 you're getting a bag that tastes pretty good (kinda has a subtle taste of being sort of done, but not really) and it gets you ridiculously high.

another way I've found is you can start filling a bag at 350 and them move up to 375 at 50% full.

the way I tell if there is trichomes left or not is take a bright LED light or something, shine the buds. before you vape you'll see the trichomes reflect the light perfectly.

with vaped bud there is no shine anywhere ;).

by the way, turkey bags or atleast 2.4 foot volcano bag are the only size bags that apply to what I said above . . . smaller bags like those that came with the herbalaire probably require much different methods (3 bags per crucible or so..)

It's not that they "shine" really, it's that I can visibly see the trichomes. They don't look the same as before, but for the most part they are still there. Do you think I'm leaving any behind? I've been keeping the spent stuff...probably use it to make butter if there is THC left to be had.

Yeah, bag size probably does have a lot to do with it. 3 herbalaire bags at 350 per crucible is about my average. At 375 I really only get 2 worthwhile bags.

I'm sure there's /something/ left behind, probably some cannabinoids that vaporize at much higher temps . . .

worth making into butter if you don't normally make butter out of trim or whatever. I think the herbalarie gets most of it but it can't get 100% for sure so there is /something/ left.

Thank you sir. This was not the outcome I was going for, but shit, for $250, you can get a product that does the same thing (not over-exaggerated) and MORE.

I've filled up a few at 375 and I do feel it gets me more stoned.

Well, I made some butter with about over an oz of spent herb from the herbalaire. The cookies were pretty dank, but next time, I will probably mix them in with trim/bud of some sort, because vape cookies arent the BEST tasting thing in the world ;)

As far as your bags go, the reason I suggest the turkey bags is for pure convenience. It wont matter if you fill 3 herbalaire bags, or 1 turkey bag, its going to get you the same high. But with the turkey bags, you just fill a crucible (or dont) and you only have to fill one bag, and cheef on that for a while....and you get hella stoned without the burden of having to keep re-filling bags.

Let me know what you think :joint:

So.....just figured I would re-iterate my point of how awesome this vaporizer is, I wanted to show you guys a picture of what the herbalaire creates, while you vape.

This is a picture of some pure hash oil, with 0 effort put into making it. While your vapor passes through the screens in the herbalaire, this oil will collect in the main stem of the unit. It will rise and fall, collecting more of the goo off the side of the mouthpiece in the process of heating up and cooling down.

You can smoke this stuff.....or you can attempt what poplars is going for....hash pills. Maybe he will share his ways of doing that with us....because it sounds interesting.

So like I said before.....$250 bucks, you get a sick ass whip/bag vape combo unit. It will also create some hella nice hash oil for you, with no effort put in by you. ;)
