New to RIU! 260 WATTS! CFL Grow! 2 Weeks Old...Advice? Comment!

Hello guys...well I have been lurking around RIU for awhile now reading as much as I possibly could and decided it was time to try and give it a grow. I am currently growing 2 White Label Skunk Autos and 1 Afghan Kush Special. My girls are 15 days old today. Please tell me how you think I am doing and if you see anything that I might be missing being my first go at it. Every morning I wake up and they smell great! I love it.

Setup as follows:
10x26Watt 5000k Cfls, 12x26Watt 2700k CFLS for flower(when needed)
Vigoro Organic Potting soil(Home Depot)
Fox Farms Marine Cuisine(Veg)
Fox Farms Happy Frog Fruit & Flower(Flowering)
Espom Salt(Mg Deficient)
Brer Rabbit Full Flavor Molasses

I am currently watering ever 3 days until run off. I PH my water/nutes to 6.5 each watering. I am on well water. There are 2 fans running in my setup right now. 1 is oscillating on top of girls and the other one is blowing air up from under the lights. My temps are at 81F and RH is 54 lights on...Lights off are 73F and RH is 42. I am currently working on a intake fan but is still in the process
3 Days ago my afghan starting showing canoed leaves which was treated with espom salt. Yesterday was my first day to start watering with molasses. After watering it looked as if the leaves sugared up? Is this normal? They are in 5 gallon pots with 4 holes for drainage. Lights are 2-3" away. Please let me know how you think I'm doing and if there is anything I could do to improve it. Thanks for looking. Stay happy!

hey man!

Why dont u try getting that fan to blow air out of your tent and allow that way negative pressure?

Everything looks ok,sounds ok.You should mix your bulbs(8 5000k 2 2700k vegging..etc).I wouldn't use your molasses yet,your soil should be good enough for now but start with veg nutes soon.

Those nodes looking tight man, good job. Sounds/looks like you have a nice set up as well.. Try to exhaust more but 81f isn't horrible at all. Keep it up, lookin good!

Does it matter where I put the 2 2700k bulbs? or just mix them in like 1 to each side? And when do you think I should start using molasses. I'm not sure when I should start adding more veg nutes as the FoxFarms Marine Cuisine is a time release and I've read where it got people through the first month. I just dont want to burn my babies. Thanks!

Your plants look great. Doing very nicely. How long do you plant to veg? I used molasses last grow but only during flower. My only criticism would be mixing auto's with photoperiods. I did that last grow and given the chance to do it again I'd either do ALL auto's or ALL photoperiods.

Either way you should be fine as you have the basics right. I like the way you ph your water/nutes before adding. Very good idea.

Ya man I have been able to keep the plants surrounded with the lights with no more then a 2" inch gap. She is getting so fat. I want to bring in some fresh air through a vent I'm putting in. I'm thinking a intake air would be good.

Yea I was wondering about mixing those to. But by time I thought about it was to late lol. How did yours turn out? I plan on vegging for probably a month. I haven't really decided yet. I have plenty of room to work with so room isn't the problem. I don't realize how much they have grown each day until I look at the pictures. I'm doing a complete journal written/photo. Yea I figured doing my ph for water/nutes was a good idea after Ive seen some of the horror stories of ph imbalance.

I would try to surround the 2 2700's with the others but im sure one to each side is ok.Use molasses during your last 5-4 weeks of flower.I use a supersoil mix so I use pure rainwater only

but with time release nute you should use them now and you should be good till flower time, if it shows signs of nute burn flush it with ph'd water.Good luck.

Ok I can mix them right in the middle where the 4 5000's are. Ok I wont do molasses again until flower. Thanks for the help. Yea I've been waiting for a good rain here so I can get some more rain water. It's suppose to storm here pretty good this weekend so I'm keep my fingers crossed.

Thanks for giving me your opinion. Just wanted to get some others advice on how they look.

Basically my auto's did badly and the the photo's did ok. However that was more due to other issues. The reason why I don't think they mix is that you can put a lot more hours of light onto an auto if there are no photoperiods around to cramp their style.

How bad did your autos do? What were your yields like. Was it due to stress or what? just trying to keep my babies happy. I'm thinking I might be ok with this go around because those skunk autos have a 6 week veg before they start to flower so I think if I just changed it to 12/12 when I do the photoperiod it should do alright? I could be wrong but I'm hoping something turns out of it.

I was just wondering what your guys views were on some of the higher wattage cfls. I was thinking of maybe keeping my 5000's and using a few of them in with a higher wattage 2700k cfl. Here is what I am talking about. I am just curious if I got like say 4 of these http://www.1000bulbs.com/product/2737/FC55-E2627OD.html and did 2 of my 5000's do you think that would work for flowering?

Ok so guys today I ordered a 30x20x36 grow tent with a 400w hps/mh light kit with dimmable features..Do you think my temps should be to hard to control in the tent with a cool tube for my light fixture. Let me know what you think please. I just decided that my cfls were going to be used for veg/cloning and then hps for flowering. Thanks guys!!!

Yea I love the way CFL's give the tight nodes and great veg growth but I'm wanting that nice tight buds and I knew I wasn't going to accomplish that with cfls. My only concern is going to be temps. Do you think with a cool tube and a 6" In-Line booster fan and bottom vents open on the tent it should be a problem? My ambient temps in the grow room are ~75 degrees. I'm just hoping with the proper ventilation temps aren't going to be a problem.

Well guys just wanted to give you a quick update for today. Gave them something new to try this morning..Pure rain water

. They absolutely loved it!!! Afghan is looking so fat and her stem is thick! How long do you think I should veg these for guys? I will be flowering in my new tent and hps

. I cant decide if I want to top her or fim her or lst. Give me your thoughts and opinions! Here are a few pics for ya.
