As a fairly new arrival I never had the pleasure of getting to know nfhiggs personally, but even in my short time here I could clearly see what a pillar of this community he was.

He was clearly knowledgable and happy to share in order to help others. How he dealt with others, even total strangers, showed a level of wisdom that is sorely needed these days.

Given his impact on this forum I can only imagine the loss of those who knew him in person and personally. My thoughts and condolences go to them. My childhood neighbour passed away on the same day and I feel he and nfhiggs had a lot in common as being the type of people communities form around and depend on for guidance and help. If there is some form of afterlife or heaven, then labour day was certainly a gain for them and a loss for us here on Earth.

I've already learned from some of nfhiggs posts and I know in the future I will learn even more from him as I stumble across old posts of his.

It is quite a legacy to leave when complete strangers feel the need to offer condolences and give thanks for the advice and help given freely. I can only hope that when my time comes I've conducted myself in such a fashion that I too might have such a legacy.

Ah, man. I just found this thread and sad news. Nfhiggs answered some of my newbie questions when I decided to diy my own lights. He was knowledgeable and super helpful to everyone. I appreciated him enough to gift him a tent I was to receive from the cup grow contest. This news has really brought me down.

Nfhiggs, you will be missed.

Do we know what the cause of death was? Or anything more about him and his life, family, etc?
