Nirvana Master Kush 5 Weeks Into Veg.. Now Flowering

I started this journal a while back with 9 plants.. 4 In soil and 5 in a aerogarden.. I winded up being gone for a while and had someone watching the plants, during this time all the aerogarden plants died.. I also learned that is aerogarden is not worth it and theres many better ways to grow for cheaper price and more efficiency.. So in the end this is the 4 plants i winded up with (soil only)

I've vegged them 5 weeks under a 400 watt MH light giving them CO2 via yeast, sugar, water method.. And giving them the recommended dosage of the foxfarm nutes (half strength early on and full strength in week 3, 4, 5).. I will soon be giving them the flowering nutrients from foxfarm (open sesame, etc)

Today is day 1 of flowering and I just switched over to the HPS light.. I tried sexing them however this is my first real successful grow and I dont think I'm able to do it yet.. Preflowers are too small. I've included some pics, everyone is welcome to comment on the plants and if anyone can determine the sex of any with the pics included please let me know..

I will be updating this every couple of days

Soil is foxfarm's ocean forrest.. I'm also thinking about getting some superthrive.. any one use this?

Does the LST help to keep the plants low and lush? I have plenty of room sideways, but it will take some work if they get real tall. Things are looking great though!

Day 2 flowering.. Looks like LST worked out ok.. I actually took the LST off the 3rd plant and have two on and two off.. Hopfully atleast 3 are female

Heres some of today's pics replies welcome

Didnt do anything to the plants today.. looks like they might need watering tomorrow

checked em out this morning and i think i'm already seeing preflowers on day3 looking real good.. never seen so much of an improvement overnight

ill post pics later tonight or tomorrow

ok these pics were just taken an hour ago.. i watered them yesterday morning with some big bloom and open sesame 5-45-19.. this is their first time getting flowering nutes.. looks like they took well to it..

i saw one little hole in one of the leafs and thought it was a bug.. however i havent seen one bug since i started and have been looking, hopfully it was just a splash of water that burnt the leaf

comments are welcome

still no sex.. then again i forgot my magnifying glass if anyone sees anything tell me.. however i doubt it

i just gave up on the LST since the plants I did it on winded up getting less bushier than the others.. i think ill start it next time at an earlier stage.. for now im going the original way as nature intended.. the 2 that used to be in the back are now in the front.. i got some decent growth, they seem to be about a foot or so( i wish i vegged them longer ).. but this way the whole plant will get massive light and hopfully produce nice buds

hey this is my first time to try to grow, someone told me to take all the big leaves off so the thc would be stronger in the bud...also i wanted to ask, they now are tall but started to bud 2 weeks ago (a little) but now they look like they have stopped doing anything........they are outdoor plants, about 2 1/2 feet tall.........they are nice green..please let me know what to expect..i am not a smoker but am trying to grow it for a sick son....have license ...thank you:-?

todays the last day of week 1 flowering..

tomorrow will be first day of week 2

assuming the soil is going to be as dry as i predict.. I will be adding:

1 Gallon of water
1/8 tsp Fox Farm Open Sesame
1/2 tsp Fox Farm Tiger Bloom
1 TBSP Fox Farm Big Bloom
1/4 tsp Superthrive

All the nutes are at half strength with the exception of big bloom

im gonna make the mixture now and put an airstone in it.. then let it sit til im ready to water

then i'll PH it to 6.5

posting pics tomorrow

Hey.. Welcome to the site.. Glad to have your first post in here.. This is my first grow and I'm no expert.. Theres definatley lots of people on here that can help you out much more than I can.. Posting pictures would be a must for someone to properly diagnose the plant, some people prune or top (As you mentioned taking off all the big leaves), this will help more light hit lower parts of the plant, and help the plant branch out, creating more buds.. How long ago did they start flowering?

Hey Jessie. You should never cut your fan leaves if you can help it. Think of those big fan leaves as the solar panels of the plant. They capture and convert sunlight. If you remove those, you hinder the plant's ability to continue to effectively convert solar energy and continue growing. The only situations where cutting fan leaves may be ok is if the leaf is clearly damaged and dying, has a pest infestation or if the leaf is blocking the light from a promising bud (even then it's better to LST the leaf/branch than cut it). Good luck.

3 Males and 1 Female was the outcome.. im growing out the males in another room and saving the pollen for hash/seeds.. i will post pics of them as well in the next few days..

so im left with one plant which seems to be growing well.. i also gave it 1 additional CFL.. and i might be adding 2 or 3 more..

i tried a couple different methods with very mild LST (due to doing it so late) and changing the angle the pot sits to give light to different area.. should be clear in the pics so far so good..

im gonna start vegging some other plants soon so i can get them in to flower
