I've got a 2.5 gallon pot with 34" tall plant in flower 4 1/2 weeks. She sucks up a half gallon, dries two days, and then is ready for another half gallon. It depends on how fast I pour it in whether it drains out any. If it does, it will draw it back up within a half hour, so I leave it be. If you've got drain holes in your pots, don't worry about drowning her. I've been hearing alot on here about a "make it rain" technique that entails flushing your plant until it has a big run off (which you dump), then you let her dry until she needs to be watered again, where you will add your nutes and feed normally. Then next time she dries out, you flush again and repeat the process. This is supposed to increase buds in a major way. They say it isn't how much you water the plant, but how OFTEN that will cause problems. Overwatering has to do with frequency as the plant pot will only retain a certain amount of water due to its capacity limits (just be sure you have drain holes and you're set).
