Sorry man, I wasnt clear with my post. What i mean is, once its been "activated" after a month, do you add that straight from your carboy to your sip res? When i was spraying my compost pile, i was cutting my activated em1 with water in a pump sprayer.
Ok, well first it needs to expand or cook, until it's ready! You know when it's ready by testing the ph with the little disposable strips. When it hits and rest for atleast a week, at a ph of 3.6 then it's ready. Time to cook all depends on many factors! So get any kind time frame out if your head. I estimate about a month. Which is why I say that.
When I water, I turn on the hose and start filling. After a few seconds, I slowly start pouring in the solo cup of em1 (30g sip I use a full solo, 18g I use about half) I always let me rez go almost completely dry before filling it up again. If you just dump in before the water, I worry the em by itself AMD having a 3.6 ph I worry can harm the plant, or the roots that grow into the rez. If you add it at the end, I worry it wont mix up as well. And cause "hot spots" I dont know this for a fact, but better safe then sorry. That's why I add it in slowly while filling her up. Also I stop using em completely during the last 2-3 weeks. And just run plain water. Again things I've been able to test and prove are limited. But better safe then sorry!
