we have too much of a give and take relationship with china, they wouldnt go to war with us..who would buy their shit then!?
This attack happened after the fed did quanitive easing-devaluing the dollar, our money is worth less. the thing at the 99cent store still costs 99cents but your dollar isn't worth as much to the supplier in china. were not going to pay more and our dollar is worth less their pissed you cant sell stuff to people who are broke and have money that is worthless

What is worse is that the dollars and debt that China holds is worth less...on purpose.

hey, i'll keep it short and i'm not linking any sources so you can search yourself or ask me for em and i'll post them on monday when im at work. i'm too lazy.

clinton signed a deal which allowed n korea to drop all their bullshit projects for a nuclear program and were able to receive technology and equipment to build. bush signed a deal to send millions of taxpayer dollars to north korea strictly for their nuclear program. around the same time, ABB signed a deal to send n korea light water reactors and other equipment to ramp up their nuclear capabilities. this was while donald rumsfeld was on the board of directors of ABB.

just on a side note, do you really believe that the US innocently gave north korea "technology to build nuclear reactors for practical use" not thinking about what may happen if the north just turned around and used light water reactors to weaponize plutonium?

how would this not be in US interest? the korean peninsula is one of the most strategic points in asia. it's the one buffer in asia that the US controls (though there is also japan). a nuclear-north korea is exactly what the US wants, a continued threat justifies americas presence halfway across the globe. is it really that far-fetched to think that the US often times prop up the enemy in order to achieve a certain goal? for example, the al qaeda, 'communist terrorists' (saboteurs) in iran, latin american anal rape, countless times.

Sorry, I have been away for the last couple of day's so I only saw this post now.

You raise a good point for sure and I totally agree with you! I did find it strange when I read about the "Agreed Framework" that had been proposed, and America had already sent materials for light water reactor's and such without N. Korea having even signed the damn agreement! What the fuck?!

Also, If I'm not mistaken (again, I am getting into this now only, as it has raised a bit of interest for me) the light water reactor's are designed to not be able to extract raw plutonium and enriched uranium needed to create nuclear arms.

But your theory is totally true, America does infact have a reason to be in that part of the world because of their willingly donated reactor's. According to the "Agreed Framework" though, these things were given in the name of peace right??? Hahaha to help out N.Korea, well to me this is just like what they did with the damn Al Queda, giving them billion's of dollar's for one problem, that turned into another, giving them an excuse to start a war.

Are the United States of America scematically designing all these wars?? It is starting to seem that way, this is what happened in Vietnam (thank goodness they lost) it's what happened/is happening with Iraq and Afganistan, and possibly what is starting to happen with N.Korea. It all does (in)conveniently makes sense. I'm gonna be following this in the years to come for sure.

We have to start looking into other parts of the world aswell, America has been talking about sending troops and setting up base in Venezuela, as if Hugo Chavez needed support (I'm not really sure what's going on there yet though) but Hugo Chavez runs a ship similar to that of Kim Jong Ill, he just desn't have any nuclear capabilities.........yet.

My conspiratorial mind is racin outta control right now!!!

Just on a little side note.
America is totally abusing any type "rules/laws" of war here, they are strategically creating these war's, but where do the teachings of Sun Tsu come in hahaha??? I know it's way of point, but my mind started wondering (I'm not even high yet)
Anyway, here is the general rule of thumb when it comes to war or competition,
according to Sun Tsu's "The Art of War"

First Postition - Defend, the governing factor that is to be taken into consideration when you are at the front of the pack is to defend. Being that you are in first (like America) you must defend you postition and defend only, any other action will exhaust your stock's (military) and leave you naked for if and or when an attack is imenent on you home soil.

Second Position - Attack, the governing factor that is to be taken into consideration when you are in second position is to attack whomever is in first (not any specific country, but infact many, making USA even more vulnerable) you are in a position strong enough to influence worthy allies and could, with ease make your way to the top if a well executed and planned invasion is made.

Basically what I'm saying here is, how is America going to continue with this, without exhausting it's current military? Maybe an assault on N.Korea would be possible in about 10 years time, but will other countries wait that long to attack America?? In that case, America should maybe start worrying about what is going on at home more than what is going on in other uncharted parts of the world.......

I know, I'm going off an huge tangent's here, but my mind got started and I wanted to know what the rest of you crazy folk thought hahaha.

If this is too much, please, carry on.

Green.

Is war still on the horizon, or is it looking less likely at this point seeing the drills have been on for a couple of days without an attack from the North? This question is directed more toward poonjoon or others in Korea right now....I know what US media is saying so I'm interested in what their saying where it is actually happening

N. Korea will only go to war during the Winter. they know its when our troops will be most vulnerable they cant fight during summer with our Night Vision and high tech equip. The N.Koreans are BETTER OFF IN THE SNOW and they know this cause they have better Winter TRAINing than our Troops.. The north Koreans Let THOUSANDS of their own DIE During WINTER DRILLs and dont care to simulate real WAR. Our Troops HATE training during winter, and dont get pushed as the north does. The North Would just give their Troops some Opium and a Rifle.

our soldiers on the ground in N.Korea would be fk'd. The war would be nothing like the middle east. the N.Korea would love to go Man-To-Man on the ground. We would need to have a ship/air approach. Cause they would just BUMRUSH any outpost with SHELLINGS and a non-stop barrage of fire. they are in No short supply of Ammunition by any means.

well ,my personal belief is that there will be a war but not anytime soon. my view is that there will be war within 10-15 years and i dont see this as the start of a real war.

but the tensions are extremely high here. the north have their missiles all ready and they've recalled their expats living in russia in preparation for war. south koreas mentality has COMPLETELY changed now and a lot of people here are ready for war. if you go out to a bar and just take a listen to what some guys are saying, they're ready to go. every male adult in korea have gone through military training.

lee myung bak (south korean president) has horrible popularity here, but thanks to this and cheonan it's starting to look better for him. these events are simple conditioning for the korean population (and the rest of the region) for terrible times ahead. this won't be the first or last this kind of thing happens. there will be worse events ahead.

this is from my blog:

US-ROK wargames have just begun again in the region. The USS George Washington, along with escort ships, was sent to Korean waters for the drills. China has stated that the USS George Washington should be turned back and added that the wargames present a problem for the region.
Here are a few excerpts from various newspapers in Asia:
.
Korea:
“45 percent of respondents said they wanted the South Korean government to show a stern response to North Korea “even if it would escalate arms clash with North Korea,” Donga Ilbo, a local daily, said Saturday.
34 percent of respondent didn’t want the situation to escalate into further arms conflicts, who yet said that they wanted the South Korean military to engage any North Korea-initiated provocations in accordance with the rules of engagement.
16 percent of them supported the view that “South Korea should refrain from a military response and instead deal with the matter diplomatically and economically.”

.

China:
“We hold a consistent and clear-cut stance on the issue. We oppose any party to take any military actions in our exclusive economic zone without permission,” China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei said in a statement days before the ROK- US joint drill.” http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/world/2010-11/28/content_11619573.htm

.

Japan:
“All members of Prime Minister Naoto Kan’s Cabinet were on alert Saturday for developments in North Korea as South Korea and the U.S. prepared to start a four-day military drill Sunday in the Yellow Sea.

Cabinet members have been ordered by Kan to stay in Tokyo until Wednesday and be at their ministry offices within an hour in the event of a crisis.”

Edit: This was just released after South Korean president Lee Myung-Bak had a speech:
SEOUL (AFP) – South Korean President Lee Myung-Bak on Monday vowed to make North Korea “pay the price” for its “inhumane” artillery attack on a frontline island that killed four people and sparked global outrage.
Lee has come under pressure to take a tougher line against Pyongyang after his military’s counter-fire following North Korea’s deadly artillery strike on a border island last week was seen as feeble.
“I can’t help expressing anger at the North Korean regime’s brutality,” he said in a nationally televised address.”Now our people know that any more tolerance and patience will only fan bigger provocations,” he said of the regime that has previously tested nuclear bombs and is blamed for sinking a South Korean warship, killing 46 people.

North Korea has called back their expats in Russia because of the threat of war:

A mass exodus of North Korean workers from the Far East of Russia is under way, according to reports coming out of the region. As the two Koreas edged towards the brink of war this week, it appears that the workers in Russia have been called back to aid potential military operations.
Vladnews agency, based in Vladivostok, reported that North Korean workers had left the town of Nakhodka en masse shortly after the escalation of tension on the Korean peninsula earlier this week. “Traders have left the kiosks and markets, workers have abandoned building sites, and North Korean secret service employees working in the region have joined them and left,” the agency reported.

North and South Korea move close to war footing

North and South Korea have moved closer to a war footing around the Yellow Sea island targeted in last week's artillery strike as tensions in the region continue to rise.

Pyongyang on Sunday moved SA2 surface-to-air missiles nearer to its Yellow Sea coast, according to South Korean military officials quoted by the Yonhap news agency. The officials said they also detected signs that North Korea was preparing multiple-launch rocket systems in the same area.

North Korea says 'no mercy'

The sound of new artillery fire from North Korea just hours after the United States and South Korea launched a round of war games in Korean waters sent residents and journalists on a front-line island scrambling for cover last night.

None of the rounds landed on Yeonpyeong Island, military officials said, but South Korea's Defence Ministry later warned journalists to leave the island.

I hope you decide on a nice Caribbean vacation soon. I think in your shoes I would bolt to somewhere a bit less volatile for a while.
Stay safe my friend.
