North Korea

Update: Further info.. most notedly, what's in bold.. hahahahaha

The United States military said Thursday that it flew in two nuclear-capable B-2 bombers to take part in military drills with South Korea after days of bombastic threats from North Korea to turn the U.S. ally into a "sea of fire."

U.S. Strategic Command said the B-2s made the 6,500-mile trip from an air base in Missouri to the Korean Peninsula to show how the United States can conduct long-range precision strikes quickly.

The massive bombers dropped dummy munitions on a South Korean island bombing range and returned home in a single, continuous mission. Known as stealth bombers, they are designed to fly undetected by Soviet-era radar.

That tells me that we have the stealth in S.Korea, or other bases -very- close at this point in time, and that N.Korea would be wise to stand down. Flew home my ass... not likely the case.

wise, but as I predicted before, with every show of force we just piss them off more. :wall:

I think that the point was moreso that we can go 1/3 of the way around the world and return in 1 shot extremely fast should they get any ideas.. but that does look to have provoked them as one was interviewed and said they're 'burning with hatred'.. not so good.

you know, sometimes when I like something...it really should say "thanks, I acknowledge this" or something along those lines because I really don't 'like' what you're saying

On that same point, I agree with you - am not saying I agree with what's being done, just trying to guess based on the information biased media is giving us based on what info they have, what gets misworded, and what they're told to say as a matter of national security.

you mean you agree that something may happen? When you think about it, if they were to say anything close to that on tv, imagine the panic that would ensue so I'm not surprised at all that they are told not to.

Yes, I do believe something may happen, and we would have instigated it more than we should have, which would put part of the blame on us. There's no way the media would ever be allowed to say "It may happen" unless there's reports of imbound bombs/rockets/ballistic missiles and it's a warning to evacuate or otherwise try to escape, I don't believe.

We have anti aircraft catapults which fire old non edible dogs into the air which bark alerting us of your 'stealth planes'

That's true. We would dearly love them to fly off the handle while we are geared in these war games. Sun Tsu says something about forcing the foe.

But no, we don't need to do forward basing any of the B1 and B2. Those are long legged strategic assets live at Whiteman AFB. But, it's not a bad flight. Out and back, mid-air refuels. Little crew rotates rest. Real Men. It is much more of show that way and no one can have at them.

What I think is China is running their influence through his Moderate Officers and he is very close to a Military Coup. He is trying to run influence as best he can through the Militant Officers who's cadres want blood and preemptive strikes, but sense the Coup.

Don't worry, there was a pair B2 outbound to relieved them on station. We constantly patrol. The nukes are about 50 mi out, in the subs. Shoot and scoot. 5 minutes to boom. And maybe a little CIA action teaming. Then the details.

But, it won't come to that. We are very good at noose tightening and if Obama gets this jerk too, him BAD. I will actually worship him... for a short time.

I could see how this may result in nothing at all, and am hoping that tensions ease a bit.. but doing a practice run with nuke-capable stealth isn't just to say hi.. and Kim is crazy enough to hit the big red button (figuratively)

Dear sir, let's not get lost in history. See Brotherhood of War about when the North invaded the South, and took Seoul, was extremely brutal all the way around.

And why again do you think that is over? No offense but only a few Americans think it's over. You don't. Do you?

How in the world is any of this the Fault of the USA? We kept them, all Asia, from killing each other in WW2. We save the Japanese from getting invaded today, but they still get kidnapped in mass and held in N. Korea.

My forum friend, WE will end this if we can, but Gen. MacArthur was stopped by tens of thousands of Chinese Troops, backed by hundreds of thousands of Chinese Militia. Now this is only a few years after Flying the Hump and otherwise saving them from the Japanese.

Why is it over? We are gearing up to restart with Nukes. Our fault??? No way.

I by no means think it'll ever be over, and in terms of fault - that was in relation to potentially provoking the situation further than some others would have. As for force in general, if threatened.. my views are all over as to what should be done in defense, and retaliation. Am quite patriotic, and do believe that the US is far superior to any other country at this time, being a vet - I also have no tolerence for any other country that believes they can wave threats around against US soil and get away with it, either.

I completely grok your point. We just aren't briefed in, so we don't have awesome duty. I for one have shirked that as much as I could. But, I toed the line for the draft lottery. Whew. The only time I have ever won anything. :)

I'm a bit the opposite in one thing only. I don't mind the unsettled, bellicose threats. It helps us keep notes, right?

For me it justs seems like the same old cycle of war games, threats, occasional incidents and economic sanctions.

Any time the NK regime feels threatened they like to pull a little crazy out the hat. Fuck, they even released some badly photoshoped pics of a few hovercrafts!

US/SK war games in the area only adds to the problem in my opinion.

America demonstrating the stealth bomber 50 miles south in my opinion is the us stating that this is becoming more serious...they dont give demonstrations to often

Like, who is escalating who? I agree. I can't take sides, not briefed in. But, I will say Obama can 3-peat here.

I wish him luck.

That is some pretty cool stuff. Here is what seems striking. He does not look Korean, nor did his dad. I'm very good with faces and studied all that when I was following the genetic diversity of humans. There are very distinct tribal structures to all the faces around his....He looks so out of place, not just his well fed lard ass, either.

He looks very Mayan to me.

With that suspension of the arms trade treaty, it seems Iran may be backing N. Korea. I know we're already watching them carefully but now what do you think are the chances of them sharing their tech after that?
