haha......my first three girls in supersoil entered the room today.botanicare has done me good....... but ill be damned if i ever go back to it after these beauties lol. i now understand why everyone here has such fancy cameras haha. can anyone point me in the right direction on something capable of good macro shots as well as entire plants( camera noob) in the 300- 500 dollar range :bigjoint:

I have a Panasonic DMC-GF3 and I really like it. Detachable lens, HD video an more features and settings than I know how to use thus far lol.

AK47 from last winter, super soil of course with a little kick of this and that. She's not really main-lined but she's trained and cleaned up pretty well.

I think the macro feature is pretty good, the biggest problem I have is the flash not getting over the lens when I want to take a really tight shot... I'm wondering if I get a longer zoom lens if the macros might turn out better by adding a little distance to reduce the shadowing.

wow thanks guys both great cameras , just found a cannon s95 for 285 with a couple extra lenses on craigslist. sounds like a score to me :)

feel free to check my shots, i use a Samsung WB150F 14.2mp perfect for macro, and has full Manual mode for pros.
I can clearly identify maturity of all trichomes, that's how good this camera is ;)

$200 badda bing badda boom. Can't get cheaper at this quality.... teaser....

no worries man, feel free to pop on by my thread, current grow in my link... i use the camera to its fullest :) i am most happy with its battery life as well. i use it every day and get atleast 5-600 shots each charge. Very compact and fits in a small cam case easily. Massive zoom (18x Optical) 24 x digital.
 
Don't take our words for it, do some google searches for best camera in X price range. Should bring up some good results. My current camera is a Sony nex5n which I'm quite happy with but was in the $700 range.

....trouble with my Qrazytrains.....one QT and the other Wappa x QT......both started to claw after i began feeding them two weeks ago, Leaf stem curl......and the stems got really deep red, and also some of the leaf viens......... so i flushed them, but then they began to fade......so i lightly fed them, and they clawed more severely.....so they just won't eat.....i figured they are root-bound and locked up.......i was going to cut them up, and throw them in the ditch, but my cooler head prevailed, and they told me that if i dug them a nice size hole, and set them on a bed of new soil, they would heal, and produce.....so that is what i did....i just took SS and cut it with used SS 50/50....cut the bottoms out of the smarties, rinsed the roots off, and set them in.....energeticly i feel the QT already responding 6 hours later, but the W x QT got pretty sick, so she may need some time.....hoping in a week we will be back on track..... the other plants with the same mix and pots are perfect.....just the 2 finicky Qrazytrains.....:leaf:

......and a healthy cola on the sick plant telling me that it is not necessarily my SS....but an imbalance within the pot itself.........

thats how the droop works, you will see some unaffected areas. i think it got cold and then overwatered. im surprised you put any fresh ss in that hole

Edit: notice the bottom of the plant is unaffected. that happens from cold/overwatering

cool, that was what i expected last week, they definately got cold!......my ace completely pulled out of it, seems like QT's are really sensitive...last year, that same QT locked out Mg..........funny you mention the SS....it is from my old "light" batch....should have mentioned that....

yeah, me too....as a matter of fact, i can get her to yield monster under lights, but outdo she gets larfy.....but her terminals are to kill for....if they don't mold!
 
Fruity Pebbles Ace under the sun.....

.....she got pretty tall, almost 6 ft......but re-bar like stems, and really healthy....easy plant to grow.....popping resin early too...around 12 days....

i have done one in the past, but as much as i would like to have a hoophouse full of green, i need to tuck everything away a few times a season for political reasons.......plus, i am all about mid-size sun testers....i don't need a huge harvest, and the main reason i am develping this method (modular mainlining) is to document it for patients to have small patio plants that are manageable......these current plants got too big again....started too early....again....i think it would be cool to teach patients how to yield a 1/2 elbow in a 10 gal smartie, using SS, a canopy ring, and mainlining....water only on their deck.....very dooable with a little know-how...
 
plus i enjoy the challange.....no offense, but i think it is pretty easy to grow a tree in a giant hole (lots of excercise though)......as long as it is managed properly (support).......but very unrealistic for someone with disabilities.........just climbing a ladder alone!......i am pretty geeked on the zip/gal principle....and need to find where exactly the line of diminishing returns lies......i know i over shot it with this grow....but still have a CQ in a 10 that has a shot, and a huge D-Train in a 20 that could push it....
