Belmont University is thrilled to have been selected as the site for the 2008 Presidential Town Hall Debate. It is a privilege for us to host this historic event.
The debates are primarily intended for the television viewing audience. Tickets are not available to the general public. Belmont students will be given top priority for any tickets that may be made available to Belmont.
The Belmont debate is the only official Town Hall Debate. Participants asking questions of the candidates will be chosen by the Gallup Organization. Belmont will have no control of the selection of participants.
So much for any desire to go there. What good is it to let them have a debate if they are going to get canned questions, and the general public can't get in and ask questions. Of course if the general public was allowed to ask questions the debate would probably take a very, very long time.

McCain voted for FISA...and didn't demand the comrpomises for the public safety that Obama did. So your point is that Obama = bad because of FISA. Okay, well, then McCain is even worse, because he would've voted for it whether it had any protections built in to it or not.
So, if FISA is your big issue, you'd obviously vote Obama, as McCain was even worse. Or to use lipstick lingo, Obama touched his up, and McCain's got enough lipstick smeared on his face to give the new Joker a run for his money.

And do tell...Why would I want to vote for any candidate that voted for FISA? Do you know about FISA? When one has the feds come in and forces one to comply with CALEA and FISA....well...it leaves a bad taste in one's mouth.

Okie doke, then don't vote for either, go independent. I was just pointing out that of the two candidates that have a chance to win, Obama is at least a little better on FISA than McCain. But if neither is acceptable to you, then obviously, vote for someone else, or write someone in.

I'm voting for the guy, I don't need to worship him. In fact all of this leader-worship is quite disturbing. You need to be able to have an open mind when it comes to politics.
I think we're going to find that all this blindly following of someone just because they are on your team is going to lead us into a huge mess.
Like we might end up in a pointless, illegal war while the people that actually attacked us are still holding hands with our unlawfully elected dictator...
