Gun control works just fine; Canada has more guns per person then the average american. Gun violence is no where near the level it is in the US. Proof gun control works.

We have a culture that holds gunds in high regard.
I got my first rifle for christmas when i was seven.
Like many americans i learned to shoot long before i learned to drive a car.
there is one prblem with stricter gun controll laws: they don't work.
And not working is a major problem. Doesn't matter how pretty the paint job is if
your car won't turn over.
That is to say, gun controll laws look good, and they shut a certain, reactionary sector of the population up.
But guns are still easy to get.
There is a thing called knowledge of consequence.
The people who do these things have a genuine lack of empathy and
either don't know or don't care about the consequence of thier actions.
It is a social issue, not a criminal one. The term 'maladjusted' hardly begins to describe
thier overall mental state.
I find comfort in knowing that there are guns in many houses in my city. And in reality i take heart when i hear of some guy pulling a home invasion
catcing a bullet for his trouble. And most, if not all, of those people realize the potential finality that could possibly result from the decision to use the gun they own.
You definitly cannot un-toast toast. And once that round leaves it's home in the cartridge and begins travelling down that barrel, there is nothing anyone or anything can do to stop it.
People are stupid. Peolpe get scared easily. Guns make people feel powerful.
It is getting to be an ancient equation that has entirely predictable results.

no it doesn't here is a quote from the canadian criminologist Gary Mauser.

* Canada: After enacting stringent gun control laws in 1991 and 1995, Canada has not made its citizens any safer. "The contrast between the criminal violence rates in the United States and in Canada is dramatic," says Canadian criminologist Gary Mauser in 2003. "Over the past decade, the rate of violent crime in Canada has increased while in the United States the violent crime rate has plummeted."

our gun violence would be very very low if it were not for one certain segment of our population creating all the gun crime's.

People kill people. With guns, with knives, with poison, etc, etc.Now don't ruin a perfectly nice discussion with insults.Guns are a useful tool in the right hands, for hunting and protection. They're a constitutional right, and a necessity for citizens who are being trampled upon by their government.I don't own a gun.But I'm pretty sure I will soon.
Guns are violent, guns kill. If you say otherwise you have a totally illogical thought process.

you don't need to put an apostrphe in crimes.
crimes is plural, not posessive.
4th grade called...
they said you can go to many different resturants. But if the resturant's menu is too spicy, check out another resturant and see if that resturant's stuff is tastier.

the apostrophe doesn't need to be a mystery, little guy.

Gary Mauser is a canadian law enforcement official, so you mean that the government's own stated crime facts about gun control are not trustworthy but your anti gun propaganda website is?

dutch, with all due respect, you have been proved wrong on every single point you have made so far you need to go rethink your life and thoughts on this subject.

OMG it has risen, yes of course because law enforcment is doing their job and getting guns off the street thus making more crime.

If you are so safe dutch, post your address...your laws say that it is criminal to own a firearm in your country so what have you to worry about? Everyone there is so civilized that there is no crime and everyone lives in harmony...I think everyone who is anti gun should proudly post signs in their yards stating their views. It would tell the criminals (who support gun control for the masses BTW) who the easiest victims are. The criminals will most likely not turn their tools of trade in, so not sure what all this liberal knee jerk gun control stuff will actually accomplish. The USDOJ data shows a very different story than the media and gun control groups do. They can spin all they want, but guns simply do not cause crime. I for one will not be on my knees asking a person that has already shown contempt for my rights and the law by breaking in too not hurt me.
