Ok, here's an oddity...

Two clones. Same size when cut. Both cut from the same plant (Jack Herer) on the same day (1F). Put in the seedling tray/cloning tray and both showed roots after about two weeks. Transferred (same day) to the one pint containers in the exact same soil (Vermisoil) and given the same nutrient solution from the same bottle. Side by side under a 23W CFL. The one on the left has grown significantly in the last two weeks, while the one on the right has hardly grown at all.

WTH?

Some clones, even ones taken at the same time, don't always grow at the same rate.

Just curious ...were clones taken from same area on plant?

TBH, I couldn't really say for sure exactly - I seem to remember them being from the lower part of the plant

I can understand different growth rates, but this is ridiculous - its like night and day.

One grew a healthy root system, the other was lagging slightly, you watered both at the same time each time and one drank all she could and thrived while the other got slightly too many feeds due to not taking up all the water between feeds leading to a weaker root system because of lack of oxygen at the roots. Just an educated guess.. Does look like the medium is dryer on the bigger plant though. Just let the small one dry out more and water less. She wont catch up.

That makes sense BUT, the only time I watered them at the same time was first planting, otherwise each got watered as it needed. I don't go by a watering schedule. So its not a matter of one getting watered too often.

I'm pretty sure it IS related to root growth, I'm just not sure why....

BTW, I did pop them out and take pics of their roots. First one is the small one, it looks yellowish from the lights, The roots were a nice white color.

That's a bonus, nothing worse than shitty roots. I'm happy to have guessed wrong!
