I fell for the damprid....not changing the humidity on my digital display and after 4 days i see about 5 drops of "water" in the bottom bucket. The little white rock things are all stuck together and shit but not the slightest change on the meter. Its getting moisture out of the air just not enough to do anything of signifigance IMO.
As much as i dont wanna,im looking daily for a cheap dehumidifier because ill need it eventually if im having issues now. I think thats the only logical option available.
Ill keep my eyes peeled for a dehumidifier (used) i cant justify blowing $200 or so to drop the humidity 10% for only 2-3 months a yr.
im not gonna get anything at this time (ie. damprid, selica gel, clay, kitty litter, etc) im just gonna keep going with the a/c as needed until i come across one. I'll probably not blow more than $50 on one tbh.
let me know how your luck goes.
EDIT: btw.. I seen some dehumidifiers used on ebay for $20-30 or so (0.01 but shipping is set to $20-$30). id bid myself but my account was suspended for some reason i do not know so unfortunately i cant get one unless i "buy it now" which is almost always a high price.
if you have the means i think ebay will get one for you. im gonna have to rely on flea markets, classifieds and want ads. maybe another auction site etc.
What you are looking for are called Desiccants. There's all types. Try here:
www.lmgtfy.com
Well thats simple enough. I know what desiccants are and what types are available (for the most part). however what i DONT KNOW (and why i made this thread) is which ones work best and which are to be avoided.
I figure since its related to growing mj i should go specifically to an mj forum and ask to see what others have done with success.
oh...and...
I think you meant to do this
but nice try.
