great thread!

I just found one seed in the many and I mean many of zips I buys from my old CG. nice, big, brown seed. so I popped it in a shot glass yesterday and she popped. now in a paper towel. I hope it will be worth it as Im already good to go on plants from my clones (PC, LB, KKSC) im currently running. oh, the seed in question is pineapple express. shit is off the hook.

Great thread...dealt with this before. Got a stash of well preserved seeds from what I considered at the time to be good stuff before I knew what good stuff was:) Want better but I want to get practice in growing so I throw them in the pot, problem is not knowing strains and differences I have had issues with nutrients, flower timing, and predominant males. So it's helped me "learn for free" but I lose in yield on the back end. So it's a tradeoff (money or risk).

I think most people will agree that it's a gamble - you can have fantastic results with bagseed or something really subpar. what I don't get is the hate on the cost of the seeds from seed banks. you don't have to buy a ten pack from a big name bank, which can be pricey, but you can jut get a couple of seeds from a site that offers single seeds - and there are decent breeders out there with cheap beans - like 2 or 3 bucks a piece cheap. grow yer bagseed with high hopes and low expectations, and/or shell out 10 bucks for something that you have an idea about .

The very, very first time I ever grew (some 10 odd years ago) I used strictly bag seed. I got lucky and 8 out of 9 plants ended up being female, and one was a MAJOR producer, that thing had at least 6 to 8 ounces on it. Unfortunately I was new to the hobby and I didn't clone her. To this day I kick myself in the arse over not propagating that plant!! Point is you can have great success with bag seed.

So I am going to try to make better plants on my own, using bagseed and known genetics. I have a collection of "awesome bag" bagseed I think like a lot of folks do, some recent "really awesome bag" bagseed that I am growing a few of now, and some white label double gum seeds from a plant accidentally pollenated by a hermie sativa. I plan to add to thi with some sannies and dj short genetics, but in general I want to grow out about 4 plants at a time, clone em, and cull em and cross em based on traits. For my own amusement and smoke. I think. I can get some pretty fucking great plants this way that Boone else on the planet will have. Check back with me in 10 years ;)
