As far as a "damn candle".. it's simply hydrocarbon, it's C25H52, It's 85% carbon, it produces 1/4 lb co2 a day. It is what it is. Photosynthesis is 6CO2 + 6H2O + light energy = C6H12O6 + 6O2... i tried candles once before. you'd be surprised how much soot you'll find on your plants from the candle and soot mixing with the humidity and being blown on your plants. why not try something that's more suited to an indoor garden? they make co2 bags pretty cheap, no risk of fire with those either.

i'm not a candle hater haha, i actually tried it because it does indeed create co2. but it does have side effects which i believed were not worth it in my opinion. maybe it works great for you.

From what I read those bags don't produce much, I think a couple get up to and extra 100ppm a day? most less? But, that's cool too! Brew some yeast and sugar, that's cool too. Raise a chinchilla, use a tank, use a burner.
Can we agree that not all gardens are the same? I don't see this soot you see, but if you do, k. I mean, I don't argue 82 people in America die of candle each year, or maybe, your conditions, there's soot, or you just gotta run the fans too much, or whatever. You figure out a way to put a stack of newspaper next to ten candles and go away for the weekend...
Can we agree that it's conceivable that a situation may exist where plants and this thing could cohabit in a reasonably safe and very cozy environment? If you see one in an office, do you see soot everywhere and afraid the building will burn? I've owned a half dozen of these things. They break
... But, you guys ever go to spas? Little tea candles all over the place? C'mon.. But I'm not hating on any other way to bump co2, or do what you gotta do. I was gonna move my snake in there, but damn respiration so slow not worth it.

We're talking paraffin, 80% of all candles made on earth. More commonly known as... a candle. We're talking candles, people. Not special candles, not back of the shop candle. UNSCENTED, white, regular ol' Candle, with a capital C. Paraffin is a hydro carbon. it is simply C25H52, from head to toe. When it burns, it becomes CO2 and H2O, water vapor. with a 50 mm wick, it will produce about 12 grams of co2 per hour, or a little over 1/4 lb per 12 hours. That's what happens when you light a candle. An everyday candle, that in our beautiful world, is simply made of two elements, and simply gives of water and CO2, 2/3 of photosynthesis. Simple. Safe. Hmm, I wonder if that simplicity and safety is why it got to be what we know as a common, everyday, no harm no foul "candle"... Just info for anyone who is legitimately interested.. By the way, I assume everyone here... smokes weed? Soooo, the "toxicity" of a candle thing...
