Organic 400w CoolTube SCROG

Hello y'all. This is my first time posting at the thcfarmer but I've posted at a couple other forums in the past. I like the community here and its been a joy reading some of the threads so I thought I'd start a thread here to track one of the tents I have going right now.

Here are some photos from first day of 12/12 (7 days ago).

What space is that bro? It looks great,
Get yourself a small inline fan to blow air through the tube to cool the bulb and direct radiant heat away from the plants.

Its a 3x3 tent. I have a 6 inch inline fan for it... but i stopped using it right now because that basement has been way too cold. I just needed some of the heat. My LED dresser was suffering big time from no heat so I had to add a few CFLs as well.

Yeah bro im the same with the cold I've just put my intake and exhaust fans closer together so I can claw abit heat back and still blow over my bulb.
I must say I don't rate these reflectors we get with the cooltubes. Gonna get adjust a wings and retrofit them to my tubes.

Apparently all of the mung beans I've been germinating for my SST's have continued to grow and they are lifting the hat on my wormbin!!! You can see the PH bottles at the bottom right of this picture. Those are not in use. I just haven't found any one to unload them on yet. Haven't PH my shit in a year or so now. I love it!!!


Next we have the horizontal scrog and it is now almost 2 weeks into 12/12. These are a few pics from day 12 (today).

That's awesome that bro, I'm currently doing rockwool but want a try with organic I'm gonna be doing two plants total in a 2x2x9 closet split into two horizontally 2 month veg 2 month flower staggered to harvest 1 plant every 2 months. Any advice ? I'm looking at getting a 400 hps and a 330 cmh both cooltubed, I know that's far too much light but I'm not allwAys going to have such a small closet so I might aswell get em now, il have no problems cooling the bulbs so radiant heat won't be an issue nor will air temps.

I did a similar thing with my dresser setup a couple years ago. It was a real tight fit for that cooltube and I had just over 2 feet in width. It's probably just fine but look at the size of the cooltube and factor in the ducting on each side before you buy the thing. Also, ditch the HPS and go all CMH. The spectrum is amazing and the bulbs last longer. You spend less money on electricity so it is a win/win in every direction. I want a CMH but I have a digital ballast so I can't use the 330CMH lamp. If I were you I would go with LED or CMH if you have to go HID.

Organic is real freakin easy. It is so nice to never Ph my stuff. I just throw my vegetable waste in the bin with the leaves/soil that go through my cabinets and then the worms chew it up. Then I use that vermicompost with the nutrient pack from KIS Organics. That is basically my soil mix. I can no-till for more than 6 months. I just add water and Sprouted Seed Teas.

Thanks for the advice bro, I've found some. Tubes that will go in there and still have some space after they've been ducted. I've seen cmh grows that cannot keep up yield wise with hps. I'm just Gona run both side by side, I prefer a predominantly red spectrum the cmh will just be supplemental. I am not a fan of led lighting to be honest, I know one day I will but I don't think they're quite there yet.

I'm cheating with the organics like . I'm just Gona grow in a fully organic all purpose soil and only ever give them water. I will however scrape off the top inch of the soil and replenish with fresh and water through. It'l be my first soil grow so I'm very excited to see what all the hype is about in terms of flavour.

I'm glad you got the right size :) Yeah there is nothing completely wrong with HPS. It saves my butt in the winter for sure when it comes to needing heat. I just wish the spectrum was more relative to the plants needs. But I use it anyway.

To be honest I'm not really sure. I don't normally keep track and thats why I started a thread! :p I wanted to see the stages and have the days recorded. BUT!!! I think it was around 7 weeks from roots of clone to beginning of flower.

I hope so! I got 4 ounces my first round with this 400w and two plants that didnt even take up half of the 3x3 tent. It was great pot but I don't think that number is high enough. So my goal this round is only 6 ounces :) I hope I can make it even though neither GSC or Monster Cookies are known to be big yielders.

Thank you :) I have one GSC in the front of the scrog and 2 Monster cookies at the back. So 3 all together. The Monster cookies are in three gallon smart pots and the GSC is in a 5 gallon smartie.

So this is day 19 of 12/12 for the horizontal scrog. The plants are looking amazing but I'm worried that a 400 w is not enough for this amount of space. I've moved my 2 kessil 150s in here and im thinking of also doin a couple of the CREE cob 3070 diy build that everyone has been doin. I'm not sure yet what time/money will avail.

I was looking at the footprint made by your light and was thinking the same thing.
Kind of shadowy in the corners.
I just received my new Phillips 315w CMD lamp and ballast.
I gotta get a relay to operate the 220v ballast from a 120v timer.
I can't WAIT to see how bright this thing is.
Something like this might be the ticket for you too?
