So true. I will start by planting Arborvidas or bamboo along the fence line. I think bamboo would look cool in my back yard. And it grows fast. I will also space these babies out a lot. And they all will go into the ground.
There yah go ;) .... Prep work for next year starts with your plan now..... and putting it in effect all the way through harvest then....

VERY NICE MAN!!! how many seasons you got under your belt? +rep
This is my first year in my own backyard. Most my growing has been indoors. This is my first grow since 2005. My last outdoor grow was in the bush. 10 plants 5lbs dried. Northern Lights Original.

I will grow this same genetics next year. I should do much better with better spacing. I am just kicking myself for spacing and not putting the potted plants into the ground. I can just picture what could be...

Thanks to all who replied.
This grow is now the grow that is out of hand. Wait tell you see the pics below to see why. It was funny at first but now it is really fucked up. I am already sleeping in a tent. My wife is tripping to say it kindly. I have family that lives next door but they do have a life. Friends/Hot tub/Parties you name it. The only good thing is they cannot be seen from any view from the street. So yah I got to play it like everybody knows now. Although my family next door has not said anything yet. And I am sure they would if they seen them. But for some reason I think they will know now. :)
Well today I had to do something fast. These bastards are still stretching. The plant by the fence is a good 5 inches over the fence. And that with tucking them under the netting. so off to Home Depot I go. I had to make a trellis wall behing the plant making the fence taller. I was able to tie up the sunflowers to help camo the plants better. After all I can't have colas swinging over the fence in the wind. Plus the netting and all the tieing made the a solid canopy that no light was geting thru. plus a big risk for mold and rot. No airflow.
The tall plant on the left is now 9 feet tall even. The other two are 7 feet tall and still going.
The fat bushy plant on the left is about a week behind in the flower stage so she is going to get really big. You can see some colas starting to come out the top. Maybe like 5 nice ones. Still a little early to tell.
The ones in the pots are about 7 feet tall with the pot. They have little buds already.

Okay here is the work I did today. They are still ties over but I was able to untie some of it. This plant is over 8 feet wide and close to 8 feet tall.when all those stems turn up tomorrow she is going to be 8 feet. If I let this plant go without tieing it over it would be about 9 to 10 feet tall. If you look close you can see some big main stems with a big s and u's in them.

I will be adding another trellis board this soon. It will go behind the sunflowers to make it blend in more. LOL Yah right.

Today she has been trying to catch the sunflower. This plant is over 9 feet tall now. Notice my patio cover roof and gutter on the left of the photo?

This plant is feeling better now that she is untied some. I wonder how this one is going to turn out? it is going to have a bunch of colas from betied over and then untied. who knows. In a few days you will see about 15 colos shoot up that are still bent from being untied. This plant is 2 times bigger than it looks right now. There is 2 foot branches laying sidways on top. They next hot day they will go up.

Another shot at the butter ball.

These two are going to have some tight buds. whats crazy and hard to fathom is that the stalks on these potted plants are bigger thatn the plants in the ground. Not much bigger but they are. These guys are just chugging water and food.

Love the night shots.

enjoy
