Outdoor grow problems

Texas. One plant. Outside. One leaf shows signs of heat stress, but my main problem is ants. Reddish brown ants. Problem? No problem? How do I get em out my damn pot?

When they're well watered, sprinkle DE, diatomaceous earth, liberally but not thickly on the soil. It punctures exoskeletons and they dehydrate. Non toxic but avoid breathing the dust. A few dry days will kill most. Water. Repeat.

Thats a sign of aphids. Aphids eat the roots and extract sugars for tge ants to eat. The ants will die to protect their precious sugar. I suggest trying to treat your medium for root aphids as it sounds like the problem

How does one do such a thing?
Im no expert but I can start googling for you. Im not entirely sure thats the cause I just know ants only come after something they want and your plants dont produce that so theres something in there creating food for them, only thing i can think of are aphids.
