Outdoors in SE Virginia

Some more LST after a hard rain. They had almost a week of straight sun and temps in the 90s. Time for some rest now...

Plant #4. I decided to grow some shrubberies that might please the Knights Who Say Ni in case I ever run into them.

I have two Jack Herer Auto and two Glue Gelato Auto growing. Have the same at my GFs house, but I’m letting them grow naturally just to see if the yields are substantially different. They are on the same feeding schedule, but mine get a couple more hours of sunlight per day. She doesn’t partake, but I’m using all my good BF points for a corner of her garden. I also helped a friend set up 4 Blue Mystic Autos yesterday in milk crates and I’ll lend a hand when those are ready to run horizontal.
I was debating going with autos as well since we were getting such a late start but I was lucky to have access to some older clones of nice photo plants. I have some Bag of Oranges strain from Useful Seeds and some Blue dream from an Amsterdam coffee shop, just kind of a generic Blue Dream but it grows fast so I hope it will do the trick. I've been slowly getting them used to the sunlight since last week and hopefully they will be in full sun by weeks end. They are in 15 and 7 gallon pots, small I know, but it's what I had and what I could deal with as far as moving stuff around for this year. Good luck with your girls.

I have my patio lit up with solar lights, so photos won’t work for me. Autos might not have the yield of photos, but I’m growing just for me so I don’t need a ton of product, and the potency of autos is on par with photos I think. When we have a normal length growing season next year, I think I can get two auto cycles completed with an early start for the first crop indoors. I’ll be running 4 autos indoors starting in Jan 21, with a finish hopefully around April, then I’ll get some seedlings started right after that harvest for outdoors. Gotta have a plan...

I’ve been to Amsterdam more times than I can remember (and some of those memories are kinda foggy). Loved the place but don’t think I’d go back now, and really have no need.

Nothing wrong with autos at all, Bum Wine Auto is one of my favorites and its going in the tent as soon as this outdoor grow wraps up. Amsterdam was a college trip for me back in 87 and is very foggy indeed. Just the way it should be. I'm a disabled vet and have a group of buddies that all sort of share seeds and cuts in DC and this one came from a friend. I'm in VA as well but up in the mountains. Love the Monty Python reference by the way, one of the all time great stoner films.

I repurposed my indoor grow space into my drying room while the outdoor plants bask in the sun. Have just shy of 3 lbs wet from a recent indoor grow...went horizontal with that as well. This is a cola I got at the end of a vertical run of the main stalk. I couldn’t go any further and it just turned upwards to the light at the end...

I cruise up to northern VA occasionally to see friends, and always make a run into DC...still amazes me they’ve opened store fronts. Last trip, l walked out of one shop, and the Supreme Court building was staring me in the face...surreal...

In case anyone is wondering, the axis on which these sit is 270 degrees, due west. They get sun at around 0830, and it passes directly overhead until an hour before sunset. Ya can’t ask for anything better than that...

Freshly bent over, and basking in the sun...lots of shoot-off branches emerging from low on the main stalks I’m pulling out to the sides. just about done extending the main branch horizontally, not too much intermodal spacing available for further tie downs. So now I focus on leaf tucking and keeping bud sites fully exposed.

Today's supposed to be really nice weather wise, almost perfect conditions. I wish I had the sun exposure all day that you had but I'm on the side of the mountain and terrain just doesn't allow it. Are you doing any defoliation at all or just going to leaf tuck?

I’ve just been leaf tucking, and can get most of the bud sites clear in that manner. I am torn on defoliation...these are autos so minimum stress on them is best I think, and have not needed it, yet...
