$95 is only for 2014 and used as a "wakeup" because then it will go up by the amount of their yearly premium which would be about $100/monthly = $1200 less any theoretical subsidy($400) so you're gonna see about a $600-800/penalty for subsequent years..

This is what I found.

. $695 per individual, which is the “applicable dollar amount,” for all individuals where there was a failure to meet coverage requirements but maxing out at $95 for 2014 and $325 for 2015. For anyone not yet age 18, 50% of the normal amount or
b. 300% of the “applicable dollar amount” for the calendar year; or
2. An amount equal to the following percentage of the excess of household income over the amount of gross income triggering the requirement to file a return under IRC code section 6012(a)(1): 1% in 2014, 2% in 2015; and 2.5% after 2015.
It looks like 95.00 the first year and up to 325.00 for the second year and the 695.00 for the third year..And I predict that they will still not sign up because they just don't have the money...

like i said between $600-800..if you have a parent you can be on their policy until age 26..by 27 you should relatively have some shit worked out..gone are those nasty extended "teen years" aka early 20's..by 25-26 your brain is now fully functioning and ready to be an adult!

You got to be kidding me..I had my own business before I was 27..You make it sound like kids should be on the tit until they are 27..They should be adults like they think they are when they are 18.. I don't think all parents pay for a family plan when there kids are in there 20s..

No offense but we are worlds apart on our opinion about kids...But you brought to light what Bucks problems could be about growing up..

I bought my first house when I was 18 in oregon city..It was a double wide trailer and the owners where moving to California so I was able to just take over there payments..I found out about it in the adds in the local paper..That was back in the mid seventies. My son and I drove by about two months ago and it is still there, it has a new deck and is painted a different color but still looks good..
