My first grow and harvest. I harvested my 2 crit mass plants a week ago and hung my branches in my 4x4 tent.
The RH was 55-60% and temps 65-70, oscilatting fan on the floor and exhaust fan on for the first 3 days. After 5 days they stopped smelling like a barn and started smelling spicy, no more hay smell.
I jarred everything yesterday. The branches still had bend in them but small buds popped off easily. I got 18 oz, filled 22 bottles a little over 1/2 full.
They buds smelled great and smoke well, slightly harsh in the bong still but not too bad for 7 days dried.
Contrary to what I've read and did though, I think I may have actually overdried it.
After a night in the jars the buds feel the same, crispy edges but the buds have some spring to them still so not completely dried out. But they're not what I'd consider wet or moist. The RH in the jars are like 53-55% just after opening them, I'll give it another 24 hours with the hygrometer in the jar to see how much it changes.
Is there going to be any more benefit to curing if the RH stays below that 55%? What if I add a boveda to each jar?
As a test I put an 62% boveda in an empty jar overnight, it went from 54% to 57% in 12 hours. I'm not sure if this is normal time frame though.
But it seems like given enough time it would hit 62% in 24-36 hours. If I add a boveda to each jar would burping be self defeating if it takes 24+ hours to get to 62%? I'd just be constantly resetting the RH.
