this season im going for 2 things.. Quality and Quantity.. In that order.

the spot: its 5-600 square yard field its a kidney shaped field with a 6' deep stream around one side a bitch of a ridge on another and thickets and pines on the other with only one way in. after hunting season im gonna set up trail cams to see if any other people go out there(i doubt it) better safe than sorry. but im gonna be settin em up in the far corner and then take lawn fertilizer to the field to add a lil more cover. maybe even move in some foreign weeds such as nettles and poison sumac to aid in security.(mother nature is our best ally ;) ) really im just trying to make only one hidden easy way in so peeps dont go pokin around and if they do they aint gonna like it.

for late flowerings on june 21(summer solstice) ill place my longer strains where they only get evening sun...ie on the west side of a tree patch. this will induce flowering. the rest im gonna take the 5 best of the JH WW and BK and put them in 30 gallon poor man smart pots filled with lime and peat moss(shits amazing). more sativa dominants will be in movable planter while the rest will be in the fertile ground.

Nutrients... havent decided..it all comes down to either

Heavy Harvest with silicon and idr the name but im pretty sure its by house and garden it makes the ladies go into a 2nd bud phase which increases yield supposedly by 20%.

or since the ground is fertile maybe organics...guanos or EJ idk yet...

OPINIONS...yeah post that shit

i dont know if id go with smart pots to much work and watering. leaves large trails. and i dont like valleys near streams in pa. fall fog and damp morning make bud rot. also those plants your putting near the tree line to induce flower cause there late will back fire cause of the fog dew and that there still going to be late... iv tried all of these. but let me know if you have any luck.

Glad to see there's still a bit of activity here. I never made a grow thread for last summer, it was my worst year so far. Barely pushed a half -LB. This was due to my inability to care for the plants being as i had to move a few hours away and my partner contracting lyme disease which swelled his knee like a grapefruit.
Good news, I'm fucking back; and this year i'm taking shit seriously again. Bad news is my partner is still out, I'd rather have him not grow pot with me for a few seasons than lose the use of his left leg. This poses a problem since our spot is ultra secluded and tough as a bitch to get to compounded by the fact that i'm trying to strike it big there one last time before i move on to greener pastures.
So i'm currently in the business of finding 1-2 trustworthy people. It's tough running a biz like this but oh well. I shall prevail. Hope you guys are doing well. I'll check back soon. Also included a list of seeds i have for this summerrrrrr. PEACE!

Hey RDG yeah we are still floating around. Glad to see you stopped in. Too bad about last season. I had a few plants get ripped myself, so that means my top producting patch that I've been using for 3 years now is done.

Here is a couple of my Sour diesel Hash Plant from last years harvest. I wish I had a better camera can't even see all the sticky goodness.

Ok so this is what im planning on. let me know what you think or some things I could improve on

Currently on it's way:

10 feminized Ice seeds from Nirvana on its way
15 x fox farm ocean forest 2.0 cu ft
10 kg of each Heavy Harvest (Spring, Summer, Fall)
8 Qt Perlite
15 lbs of earthworm castings
11 lbs of jamaican bat guano
Maxicrop liquid seaweed
cloning solution
45-pack of rockwool cubes
organocide(spray)

I currently have 2 patches scoped out and at one of my patches on the side of a well hidden hill containes 10 holes with two 37gal buckets at the very top of the hill. 5 holes to each tub that I have tubes running from the tub down to each of the holes. I will poke tiny drip holes at each of the holes where im planting. I'd say each week I would have to come back and refill the 37gal bucketsto keep the dripping.
Other location is in a dense patch of prickers thats encircled by a fresh water steam that I plan on putting my 10 clones at. I also have another 37gal bucket there that I will be running lines from to create another drip scenario to each of the holes. I'm not sure that the lines will have enough pressure to continue running water down the lines because unlike this patch, it's on a much more level ground than the two 37gal ontop of the hill. Reason why I am going to keep large buckets stashed somewhere close by that if the drips dont work I can just make a 30ft walk to get some water from the stream.

To start this off before I plant them in the patches I will do a 4 week indoor grow to get a head start on the season. I've used another 37gal bucket with a lid and taped every square inch inside of it with tinfoil like tape to have reflectors in the inside to start my 10 germinated seeds in. Tough part about this is I will be in a dorm for the 4 week start-off period so I had to make it fool proof with no light coming out and to know I could go to class and sleep without it becoming a problem. I cut a tiny hole at the top of the lid for an outlet plug to run through and have 2 26 watt CFL bulbs I will hang inside of this box thats about 3 feet wide by 2 feet high. I will cut a circular hole in the side of the box to put my tiny circular fan infront of it that will be pulling fresh air out of my dorm window that will be cracked open and providing my box with circulation and also cool air so my bulbs and the the entire box won't over heat which could cause a fire inside of my dorm (BUSTED!) I will have the 10 seeds start out in pong cups that I will put one cup into the other. The cup that is on the inside I will poke acouple tiny holes so it provides a run off into the other cup if needed. watering about everyday? i'm still not sure about watering the weeks after germination.

Once they get high enough I will transport the bucket with my 10 babies back home around early days in april and will start getting them used to the outside sun. Maybe ill put acouple out in the woods or in my window to get the plants "hardened" to the sun because we all know the sun is much more powerful than bulbs and can scorch your plants if thrown out to fend for itself after 4 weeks inside. Once the beauties are ready to put out and all of my holes are dug to the size i need it (about 2 cu. feet for each hole?) I will transport all of my soil and fertilizers to the spot and begin planting. I will fill up the hole about 25% high with fox farm soil, add a handful of perlite (20-25%) and mix it in. Then I will throw some more soil into the hole while mixing both of my jamaican bat guano and earthworm castings to level out the hole to the natural ground. NOW THE PLANTS ARE ADDED ! which are about estimating will be around a foot or two high in length and will be ready to withstand natural sunlight on its own. I will then add a good handful of Heavy Harvest(spring) blend to the outer parts of the hole (not putting it directly next to the roots. This will cause burning of the roots) and give it a nice good watering to finish off the process. lastly 20in tall green chicken wire will be posted around each plant to prevent deer and other hoes from eatin my shit up.

Ill eventually add the Heavy Harvest in about every 3 week give or take the season (spring, summer and fall) with a handful of bat guano and earthworm castings and of course.. NO FERTILIZERS THE LAST FEW WEEKS TILL HARVEST. Once they get to a good size i'll give it a nice good SUPERCROP to the stems (pinch roll and bend method) and ill start to top them after 4-5 nodes. When they get tall enough Ill start to LOLLIPOP each of the girls to give the top half of the plants extra nutrients to run up through. Ill end up putting a bamboo stick right in the middle and use some string to tie the main stem up to give it a nice straight path to follow. I'm thinking about the watering schedules that will be needed.. Im on the east coast and temperatures relatively range from about 75-90 on some summer days. Giving that one of my patches is on a hill and will have a very good run-off from potential rainy days and my other patch is relatively close to a running stream. Im thinking ill have to give em a really nice good water around every 3 days and give them a nice dry period for the roots to expand while searching for water (of course taking in account of rainy days) but this is my estimate. (IF MY DRIP LINES DON'T WORK!). Im pretty sure the lines on the hill run-off will work fine but most likely I will have to make trips to the patch around the encircled steam every 3 days or so.

Also I -might- have a summer job that I will have to be at during the week which is 3 hours away, I hope the patch on the hill run-off will withstand enough drips to last around 4-5 days with the 37gal bucket if this is so, and if not well Im wondering if my plants will withstand until I get back on the weekends. Or even the patch by the stream if It could take possibly 4-5 days without water. Idk yet... maybe ill get a day of rain in the middle of the week well see!) Give or take my location would It be OK to water during the night ?\

around 160oz if I get 8 from each.

Anybody have any suggestions for good strains to grow around this area haha i never thought i would be able to figure out which ones might be somewhat acclimatized to the region. I have a chance to find out here though!

dont drill hole in the bottoms of the containers.. drill them on the sides drill one hole in the bottom a quater inch hole. then drill all the rest in the side one inch up this will leave water sitting in the bottom inch of the container for a day or two and it will wick up to the top layers as it gets hotter. this will give more days between watering.

Seems like you have your shit together Charles. Your planning should pay off well, are you going to germinate your seeds before putting them in the cups in your dorm room? I would suggest it, its very easy and speeds up the process.
I see that you would like to take the plants out once they're already a foot or so tall. This is a nice plan in theory, just make sure you have your security in check.. i.e. when theyre at your house before in your plots will neighbors/your parents notice them? I'm hoping your parents are cool like us. Also, when you take this two foot plant from your house to your plot it creates much more trouble concealing them from prying eyes and may also create a need for extra trips thus increasing your footprint in the ares. I like to just get them roughly 8 inches tall in solo cups so that i can carry out about 20 or so in a carboard box with the lid propped up so no one could see what im carrying if by chance a person sees me and i get out a bunch of plants in only 1 trip which is great.
Everything else seems pretty on point, be sure to ask us if you have any problems or question.
What part of the state are you growing in? (SE,NW, central, etc..) I'm around Reading if anyone hasn't noticed.
Create a thread if you have the time, I'd love to follow along on your first grow!

You have many question eman. Glad to see youre willing to learn.
You asked about strains: that is pretty subjective, most plants that finish under ten weeks should work fine in pennsylvania depending on your area of course. I lived in williamsport for a couple years and it got cold way early compared to my hometown in SE pennsylvaia. SO if your up north find a strain that finishes in september, otherwise i know people around my area whove had success with strains that stretch into november.

Haze hybrids: yes haze hybrids will definitely work as long as the flowering finishes early enough. I have an Amnesia Haze that i'm dying to try this summer

Pests: there are a ton of pests that will get at your plants, I suggest getting some type of organic insecticide and following the directions. I use Azamax (active ingredient azadirachtin) this covers 90% of pests you will encounter, is certified organic, and wont harm non invasive species like bees, small mammals or fish. Now deer are an obvious pest, and some burrowing rodents too, so put up chicken wire around your plants. Depending on your specific location termites may also be a problem. The myth is that termites only eat dead wood but thats totally false. When your plants get large and the stems become "woody" termites can invade, weakening the stem and preventing nutrients being moved from the roots up the plant. I had termite before and created a thread for it which you can find by searching, there are a few people with their own opinions but my most immediate solution was to use a Termiticide that was recommended to me by this dude from australia. It's called Dominion 2L and can be purchased online. Started using that and no more termites, but you must begin using it BEFORE they start attacking your plant.

Hope i covered most of it, I could go on and on about outdoor growing but i hope this helps. Check back in with your progress.

I like to just get them roughly 8 inches tall in solo cups so that i can carry out about 20 or so in a carboard box with the lid propped up so no one could see what im carrying if by chance a person sees me and i get out a bunch of plants in only 1 trip which is great.
Everything else seems pretty on point, be sure to ask us if you have any problems or question.
What part of the state are you growing in? (SE,NW, central, etc..) I'm around Reading if anyone hasn't noticed.

Of course I'm going to germinate them before but I plan on storing them in my very messy basement while being back home at the time and while moving them back and fourth from locations I will do this after midnight. I dont have much neighbors but close to 50 acres behind me so it wouldn't be too hard to get them back and fourth while hardening them. While transplanting to the spots it's within a few miles so this will also be done in the hours after midnight and the cardboard box idea is great i'll be sure to do that. Also forgot to add during the 4-5 weeks of in the box up at school im going to try a bunch of low stress training techniques which will give me more time to grow them before i put them out giving that the box is about only 2 feet high.. and of course producing a much higher yield in the end hopefully.
also hoping the theory of putting them out a foot or so tall will produce an earlier harvest time so the stupid ass PA rain doesnt hit hard like it usually does in late oct/nov. SE Rep !

It will not produce an earlier harvest but it will produce more yield as the plants do not begin to flower until they have less light so regardless of when you put them out they will begin flowering when the sun tells them to. An example if this is my wife took some clones off of a plant outside in the middle of June it flowered at the same time as its mother it was just a small little plant, actually not so small, we pulled just under 2 OZ of of it after trim and cure. :weed: If you plan to grow large plants you will need to support them somehow or you will lose limbs during storms once they are big, as they cannot handle all the weight. There is another advantage to starting them inside, the deer love them like cocaine when they are tiny, not so much once its a bush. Good luck and keep us posted!
