PC/Cabinet Grow cfls(1ST grow)

Well...First of all. Great grow so far. You have alot of ambition and your very focused on learning!

Now, on the nutes, Dont add any nutes until their about 2.5-3 weeks old. Also about the type of nutes to use...If you have a hydro shop around you. Go and pick up some "Sugar Peak", Well Thats the type
that I would suggest. Its an organic nute. So you Super reduce the chance of nute burn. and salt build up.

on the lights. You having duel spectrum is fine. But with you growing in a PCcase I would go 12/12 now. Because it will take 3 weeks alone to even find out your sex. then a few more weeks to come up with any bud.

On the whole SCROG idea. Thats the useual route for the PC case grows. But its a more difficult growing technique. I would try LSTing or topping.


For the starting leaves,Dont worry. Its very likely that they will die off. Dont worry about them. Just as long as your new growth isint discolored or dying I wouldint worry about them.

Also make sure that the lights are about 1.5-2 inches from the tops of the plants at all times. And try to get a fan in there : ) even if you just keep that bigger fan blowing on the side holes that are on the side of your pc box!
That will still keep air circulating : )

as soon as i put the fan in it seemed like the temp shot up and then the same plant with the started leaves started curling up its leaves on the sides from to much heat/ loss of to much water so im thinking maybe just use a fan a couple of hours a night not so close to the poor plants

and i really appreciate the help Dacdac thats good info im just taking it slow
On the age of them they have been above ground for about 2 weeks now i know before i worried about the fan and stuff like that i have noticed a huge growth in the size of the leaves in both plants in jus the four days ive been keeping this journal

also just a suggestion so you wont have stem problems, I would bury the stems almost up to the starter leaves.

All of the stem will turn into roots that will be nothing but good for the plants.

Sorry forgot your ? about the size of pots. Eh. Since you wont be having fully grown plants, you wont be needing huge pots. Try to find pots that are more wide than tall. Hence your height restrictions.

I put the dirt at one inch below the first set of real leaves as advised by some others but i will give your advice a shot im open to all ideas

Ya the first two weeks are always the slowist. Mainly for your first grow keep it simple.... Because if you have a bad experience your first grow, you wont view growing the way you should!

So keep it simple and just get through the grow.

Why a PC box if you dont mind me asking?

Just need a box or having to conceal? Because if your just needing a box I could walk you through building a cheap great grow box. (were talking like 20$ for a 4ft tall 2ftx2ft box : )

Oh cool, An inch might be to far down. Just get it to where the dirt is as far up as it can go without touching the starter leaves.


Its good that your open to suggestions : ) alot of first growers are super cocky and knowit alls.

I thought I knew alot but was very open to suggestions when I started growing. But found out I didint know anything. LOL!

well i needed to conceal it, i originally was just gonna do it in the cabinet that the pc case is in without the case but setting up the lights with my lack of resources would of been not very successful plus the walls of the case are white enough that it helps reflect some light and if i just had a random case out of nowhere just magically appear i think it would be a little to obvious so im just rolling with what i got lol sometimes thats all you can do

Yup Yup That is true.

Half the fun of growing is having to work with what ya got. Which 99% of the time is nothing. lol!

ok so your suggestion about running a 12/12 light schedule would that automatically start to flower them when they were ready?

Just some quick pictures def some noticeable growth last night i tried some very very diluted nutes on only one plant to see what would happen and it looks a lot perkier

On The 12/12 they will veg until they show sex regardless. which will be about 3 weeks. you pull the males(unless you want seeds)
Then they will start to show buds in about 10 more days. I had to clip my first plant at 40 days (12/12 from seed) and got about a quarter dried.
It will be very immature bud, very hairy but smokable..


Ya thats cool on the Nutes. the first two weeks you will want to add 1/4 strength nutes.
then on week 3 add 1/2 strength...then week 4 turn over to full nutes.

Remember you dont want to have Nute Lock. Which is where your plants get so used to being watered with nutes that they wont accept them anymore.
You get nute lock from watering with nutes every time.

The best way to go in my opinion is water 2 waterings with nutes and one with pure H2O.

Are you useing bottled water or tap?
pH balenced? You can get a gallon of "drinking water" (green cap) at wallyworld for 88cents.
That type of water is pH buffered, which means that the pH level will always stay at a perfect 6.8!

For the 12/12:
Ive been doing some research not sure about it quiet yet theirs some people who swear buy it but some people who feel it puts more stress on the plant and doesnt give it enough time to photosynthesize

Water:
Im using bottled water cause i have a unlimited supply lol bought a mister yesterday to after my plants side tips were bending up like a taco it hasnt gone back down yet but im hoping it will soon

Your gonna wanna switch to 12/12 before too long you'll run out of room in your case

hmm i have a grow in a pc case
and i use LST style grow.

i will slowly day by day go shorter and shorter not to cause to much shock and to point out what i was talking about the leaves tips going up i know this pic isnt the greatest but kind of gets the point across

Im stuck on whether to lst or sog i found a pretty good shelf for sog today at meijers but im just debating about it right now

i wouldn't worry about leaves they look fine to me

ok cause i found a copy of jorges grow guide and was watching it and he said when the leaves curl up like that its the plant trying to retain water cause it was to hot (which i fixed the heat problem) so all i can do is just keep truckin

If you watch a time lapse grow they seem to curl up when the lights are on and down when they are off also jorge's alright when you first start out but you'll need more in depth advice before too long and some of the shit he says is fucked .

haha oh wow... i mean i haven't been taking everything he does as holy word but ive just been trying to adapt some of the basic concepts such as watering theories with salt buildup and what the roots need in the environment like the soil not being to saturated that air cant get to the roots but thats about the extent, im just taking it all in and making my own experience together using all the best ideas i see

yeah thats your best bet his videos do get the basics right but not everything in my opinion
