Pc grow case using soil

if u are harvesting the wholer tree i usually give about 24hrs dark then chop but if its ready then chop wen u feel is right...theres no wrong or right to that answer i usually l,ike to after an extended dark period

Thanks Rastadred for all of your help and support! Since lights went off @ 7:00am this morning, I'm going to keep her in darkness until Wednesday 7:00am. Then I will flush her and let her sit for 3-4 hours. After that, I will chop her. When I hang her, I will let her dry for 7 days then put her in a paper bag for 1 more week of drying. I will then put her in jars for curing. Is this process similar to yours? I read the rest of your thread yesterday and got more understanding of the harvesting process. I have read many thread on Harvesting and Curing but I wanted to try your method since it has been proven to work and you have gotten some fine smoke. I certainly don't want to have put in all this work to grow Sassy and end up with some hay to smoke

yea that sounds about right...if ur soil is dry u can flush now but u dont want to over water her...the main thing is patients patients patients...couldnt stress it enough...if u wur to ruin this now it b becuase u werent patient...its pretty hard to mess up wen drying and curing unless u let mold get to it or u dry it a half fast way with no cure...u will be ight and seems u def.l kno what to do just make sure u do it and everything will b golden!

Hey Rastadred, thanks for the response. No, the soil is not dry yet, I just put her in darkness for 24 hours. If she is not dry at the end of 24 hours darkness, I will keep her in darkness until the soil is dry. After which, I will flush her. You are right, I don't want to do anything to ruin Sassy, so patient is a must. What do you think about drying in my pc case? It has a scrog screen so I could hang the buds from the screen. There are 3 fans inside the case, 1 exhaust and 2 intake fans. Will it dry ok or will it dry my buds too fast? I'm limited for space. I have a big ass box I saved too.

i think that it will dry way to fast in the case with all the fans on...maybe one on...all u need is circulation i just hang in the top of my closet with a small fan in the bottom corner pointed at the wall on low...u can feel a slight breeze and an ever so soft sway from the buds....to much direct air moving over the buds will dry to fast and IMO will only reall dry out the outside instead of the inside of the bud aswell

I went ahead a cleaned out the closet and hung up strings, I have a fan inside pointing at the wall. Sassy's soil was not dried out yet so I will wait another day to see if it is dried then.

nice...good to here! at least as a first time harvest u took the time out to get everything ready be4 u chopped!..i think another day and my buds will b dry...but not the 3main colas...the other buds seem to have dried out a little too fast...hey u wur talkin abnout the method with the shreded paper bags and u pu the bud into a bag and put in shredded paper bag? and u leave for a while the mix the bag around

Hey Rastadred, not long now before you are able to smoke your buds. The 3 colas are bigger than the other buds so it stand to reason that they would take a little longer to dry. I want to be able to say my weed has a smooth smoke and great taste. I'm pasted some information about the brown paper bag method: Ok after the plants have been hanging to dry for 4 to 7 days i trim off all the buds into nice size nuggets. They i pop them into (non waxy) brown paper bags, only half fill the bags with buds so there is plenty of air space in the bag. Now you fold over the top inch of the bag and hang the bag up in a dark room/space at room temp 20c / 21c.

Then for the first week i open the bags twice aday and give the buds a little stir and shake to move them about and to add fresh air into the bag and then close hang up until the next day when you repeat this. After a week or so (drying permitting) you can just open the bags once aday to let in fresh air. When the buds reach the point that they are ready to jar up or store then you can take the buds out of the bags and pop them into jars, i would still burp the jars once aday for a little while to make sure the buds are 98% dry. What do you think about this method of drying after the buds have been hanging for 4-7 days?

sounds good! i like to get my bud into jars a little sooner then real dry..around wen they are crispy to touch but the stem doesnt snap...i then trim..all the trim is dry at this point..and then i put them into jars and i leave for a day if i can! if bud is real wet after a few hours i just take them out, or leave the top off untill feeling crispy again and i blow into the jar...a good find from riddleme...and then close them up and repeat this untill i could leave the jar closed and have the bud still dry enough to smoke...by that time u get a very very nice cure on them, as the buds ferment wen they are partial wet...just dont leave them wet in the jar at any sign of moisture dump them out to dry or open the jar for a bit, and repeat..

Sassy has been chopped and the buds are now hanging in the closet to dry. Wet weight is 100 grams/ 3 1/2 ounces. The buds were not fat like I would have wanted them but there were a lot of them. I have not try it yet, but once they dry out some, I will try a joint and report back Check out the pics..........

The dry weight on Sassy is in, I got an ounce off her. I smoked a joint but it had no taste which is better than tasting like hay. I got a nice head buzz and the smoke was smooth. I sure once cured, it will be much better in taste, smell and high.
