Perpetual Led Grow

Anyone have any advice on starting an outdoor veggie garden? 20 ft wide x 60ish ft long. Probably wont use it all at first. Still had grass a month ago, I covered it and it should be gone in 3 weeks ish.

Wondering what I should do next? I have 14.5 cu ft of amended soil from last year and about the same amount of compost. Was gonna do different sized raised beds until I filled the area up but idk if that's the way to go or not. Gonna be a pretty permanent garden, so shoot me some ideas.

Along with my veggie garden I'm starting 9 outdoor holes for autos. Plan is to pop them in April-may and flower with the June/July sun. Any advice would be cool, never done outdoors. Gonna be homemade organic soil outside, and prolly some store bought mixed in, I only have about 15 cu ft of soil and 15 cu ft of compost.

Also have to deal with deer. Not gonna lie I started pissing around where I'm gonna plant. Not in the holes or anything just the perimeter to deter them. Also gonna make a couple different sprays. And lastly and 3 deep ring of fishing wire around each plant. I figure that oughta do it.

Picked up some useful banana kush s1s and blueberries and chocolate, popped 2 of each. Also order some sj wed cake f4. Those will be here tomorrow. Prolly drop 4 of those and 4 more sherb bx next weekend.

Dream beaver. Last run for this guy. Was my second female from the pack. Different bud structure than #1. Pretty similar in every other category. Smells like onion/garlic type deal, pretty funky. Taste really comes through on this strain.

@OP what did those LED strips cost you? I'm thinking about switching to LED after only using HPS/MH on my grows.

I just don't want the crappy Chinese stuff all over Amazon and Ebay, but I also don't want to spend many hundreds or thousands either.
Because I grow for personal use, so I won't get my money "back"

Honestly I dont remember. The first set I built when I started this thread was cheaper than the addition I built a few months ago. Seems like aluminum and strips were a bit more now.

If I were to do it again 25 strips would be 319 from digikey. Aluminum from onlinemetals prolly gonna run 100 or better. Drivers 4x meanwell 185-24a would be a little over 200. You could use different drivers if you found others cheaper. Then just tape to mount strips, wire, hanging material etc.

Could also be scaled down depending on how many hps watts you're using. I'd think that what I'm running would replace 1000 watts, honestly not sure. I started with a 600 watt hps and now its stuck in the back of the closet until it becomes legal and I finally feel comfortable throwing it on craigslist.

Grape sundae 2 lower branch. I noticed a single leaf throwing a ton of frost, honestly I thought it was mold, but nope just frost. Cant even see the leaf for the frost.

Copper chem finally dry. Took forever with all the rain we've been having. I use the window to let fresh cold air in. Got off of work today and its 74... like 95 in my grow.. off to get an ac in the morning.

More copper chem. Got a clone getting ready. Good smoke. Not sure how to describe the smell/taste, but its good.





Grape sundae getting close. Might be a little quicker than 9 weeks, prolly can do 8 from clone. This pic was 2 days from 8 weeks. Some of the leaflets coming outta the buds are throwing insane amounts of frost.



Been doing a lot of digging this last few days/now. 1 of 10 holes most are about this size +/- a little. 8 are dug 2 to do today, and I gotta get the 200+ gallons of soil out there to fill these things. Gonna be a fun day.



Gonna pop my first round of autos this weekend and get em out there in 2 weeks. 9 autos total and prolly 3 photos. Think I have sour livers, Skywalker, and white chem from mephisto for my autos. + a few other freebies from attitude that may or may not go out.

Lvtk branch. Gotta be a tk leaner no lemons at all on this one, but dense nugs, og typa smell and high so I keep it around. Pretty sure this is the same bud a couple posts up.

Picked up some sundae driver s1s, and GPS skydweller for 15 bucks. After copper chem and cookies and chem I dig his stardawg and i have 0 Skywalker og so I'll give it a whirl someday.

Hmm. Idr exactly. Either Neptune or dcse. I think Neptune. It's a nice smoke. Taste and flavor were on point. Pretty unique in that aspect. 3 issues I had with the 2 plants I've found were yield, potency, and they were a bitch to trim. I'd really like to try their valedictorian, but i have to pop the rest of these star pupils and see what's up.

Honestly the issues maybe have my fault I'm not sure. They were pretty finicky, hard to keep healthy. This isnt the first time an all purple strain has been funky with me. Purple voodoo f5 was the other. Which might be in my thread. So maybe they like a slightly different ph/environment than what I'm providing, but every plant gets the same treatment, if something can't keep up I gotta let it go.

I've seen you're led build which is very kool 2hat are the specs on those, you're finished product in my opinion is one of the best I've seen for led. I will take a look at those seed suppliers, wont start a purple until I'm back in the swing of things.. messed up my first plant back.

Well I sure appreciate the compliment on the LEDs, but idk about the best. They do def get the job done, and do it well. I like them more than the hps I started with. It's something like 34 strips 2 groups of 9 and 2 groups of 8, for a total of 4 groups. Each group is powered by a meanwell 185-24a. So around 740ish watts.

Neptune and dcse are just the banks. The star pupil comes from mass medical strains. You can find them a few other places as well.

Another one to look at for purps is bigworm. Can find his gear at dcse as well. He does a lot of purple work. That's where the purple voodoo earlier in the thread came from.

Which is the other purple strain that didnt care for my environment. It was almost straight black in color, but no discernable smells/taste/and 0 potency made me drop that one as well. Once again coulda been all my fault. The tpr I run is pretty purple though and throws some nice big buds, actually have one coming down in days I'll go snap a pic of.

Awesome, I used to run a 1000 watt hps years ago, when I was getting back in I bought a vipar spectra, then I did research and realized the umol/joule output and lux/ watt I then purchased a rapid led build kit and was amazed with the difference. It's nice having lights more or less run them selves I allways was nervous with the 1000 not to mention the annoying buzzing sound of the ballast. I have a pretty good group of genetics got an amazing deal on attitude almost 30 individual seeds of different genetics for 108$ so I'll run through those but you're grow just really caught my eye. I haven't been an led guy for long but I've been researching and hope to do a nice build of my own soon( not a kit). Looking forward to the tpr pics.

Mann.. this week. Feeling a little defeated. My wife had my son last Wednesday. Couldn't come home in a daily basis to open and close the window I use to keep it cool, dont have my ac quite installed.

Well of course the fucking weather wants to do this 70 high and 30 low shit so the humidity skyrockets at night and stays up. Found PM on Saturday for the first time in 5 years.. wasnt bad, 3 plants minor outbreak, solved with some water/milk/potassium bicarbonate spray.

Fast forward to today a la kush cake has throw so goddamn many balls it's not even funny. Quite a few already busted and they're no where close to sterile. Dunno how many plants are gonna get it.. Once again prolly due to environmental stress with rapid temp/humidity swings. Also this particular plant took the fuck off in 3 days and grew into and then past the light, so I doubt it liked that. Took a clone so I guess we will see if it herms again.

On top of that I have a kid now.... finding time to get in there and catch up is getting rough.. veg room is way behind.. ughhhh.

Finally got my ac installed... dont have kids people.. dont know wtf I got excited for this shit is for the goddamned birds. I mean I love him and what not but fuckkkkk this. Gotta sit around and wait on my fucking alarm to go off and go to work, why in the actual fuck do people do this? Already made my appointment to get snipped, that'll be fun, but sooooooooooooo worth it.

Don't even have time to get in my room and work and when I do I have 0 motivation. I think post partum is a real thing and I'm not even the mother..

On a positive note this kid has eaten 6.5oz in less than 2 hours at 1 week 1 day 1 hour and 53 mins old. He's healthy for sure.

Last edit. Finally got the kid asleep. Time for a bowl, then garden work then maybe an hour sleep before hes back up.
