Peter King seeks the R nomination in 2016

Imagine how big his ego has to be for him to even think he has a chance.

Self delusion is a big part of most politician's psyches. I hope he does make a serious attempt, it will be amusing to see his record trotted out by the media for all to see.

It would definitely be a healthy hit to his ego. Seeing the 2016 lineup in general is going to be depressing. Hillary's neo-liberalism for the Democrats, and god only knows what kind of freak the republicans are going to pull out of the closet.

I think the public will be taking a closer look at independents or the "other guy" this year. I don't think the media will be able to shut them out completely like 2012.

I doubt it. They seem stuck at most 2% of the vote. I wish it would happen, but private money/media has our electoral process by the balls.

Possible but the media isn't happy with the democrats and hate republicans and that's the growing consensus of the public so unless Obama starts farting rainbows and shitting skittles before 2016 it's open game.

There will be two official republican parties in 2016.

Apparently the revolution WILL be televised.

But think about it, could you ever realistically see an independent elected to the presidency? And I don't mean a potential Ron Paul psuedo-independent run, I mean a legitimately independent candidate.

Only if the media gave equal coverage. So, no, not realistically..

Ross Perot came close. I think it could happen, but it would depend on the circumstances at the time. There is no way to predict what 2016 will look like.

Yes I do, Obama is scoring worse than Bush that is definitely saying something about the perception of the two bases. I think the voters will more skeptical in 2016 and not let rhetoric be as influential. I think people are ready for a centralist with more common sense approaches to our problems instead of over the top rhetoric about things that aren't even an issue. I also think the Democratic party will start to fragment like the republicans putting a bigger gap between them and the extremist of the party, which in my opinion is a good thing. This is all speculation of course but we're seeing hard core Democrats and Obama supported turner their backs on him, feeling disgusted and betrayed. All he is doing is running around campaigning and doing damage control. His veiled attacks on civil liberties he opposed so vigorously and now defending have damaged his credibility so much I don't think he can recover.

I might actually vote if he wins the 2016 primary. That would be so awesome to say you voted for a dude named Peter King. Is this guy Steven's brother by any chance?

I predict the green party candidate to be arrested en-route to the debates again.

Where exactly are the extremists in the Democratic Party? They don't even have social democrats for christ's sake. When Camila Vallejo runs for congress, let me know.

I cant believe anyone would want anything resembling a republican or democrat in office, ever again.

But then again, humans aren't necessarily the brightest group of living beings.
