Hey GUYS! whats up! sorry its been a while! I have had my plants at my friends house for a week cause my momma dukes was in town visiting. unfortunately they haven't received the TLC i like to give them every day. i did manage to go over there and change out the res water, maintain the pH level at about 5.5-5.8, and give them little pep talks
today i brought the babies home and got my set up all straight. i now have 2 150w soft white spiral cfl lights in 8.5 inch half chrome dome clamp work lights, pointing on each side of the AG about an inch or 2 away from the plants. i also bought a tall fan that is circulating air in there. the lights are all set to 12/12, along with the fan being on when the lights are on.
let me tell you i was scared driving home with my set up though!!!
my plants are smelling really strong now, and have pretty thick stems, nice green leaves, and are getting bushy. i have had to raise the AG light 3 times so far. the plants are a month old as of yesterday.
the only problem i see now is that the plant stems are sort of bowed, and actually just since a few hours ago i have noticed that one plant seems to be wilting, looking down...
i am assuming its because they have been growing a month without those additional 150w cfl bulbs. do you think that now that i have those bulbs that the plants will perk up? i mean, the top leaves look great on all the plants, but the ones towards the middle and bottom are looking depressed, brownish, and slightly wilted.
any advice on how i can get them to perk up?
in case you forgot, here's what im working with:
5 plants, 4 weeks old
1 aerogarden
2 - 150w soft white spiral cfl bulbs w/ 2 - 8 1/2 inch half chrome dome clamp work lights
fox farms grow big nutrients 6-4-4
one air stone
2 lucky buddhas sitting on my AG
for good luck
pH test kit, with a pH constantly at 5.5-5.8
fresh reservoir water every 2 weeks
one tall fan circulating air every 12 hours when the lights are on
lights on 12 hours, off 12 hours
growing in my closet with white walls, and doors open
music (plants like that right?)
so far i have used all the info you have provided with me and taken it to heart. i love my plants, and i am worried that they are looking depressed and stuff. im sure that them being in a closed closet with no ventilation for a week and no additional cfls didn't help any. but do you think that with the set up how it is now that they will start getting healthier??
please help! im hoping for them to start flowering in a few weeks..and not having to start over instead!
