Pipe Dream's Tent....C99, Pineapple Express and others.

I set up an area for veg today and I'm getting antsy to start flowering. I got some new bulbs from 1000bulbs.com. Really good service and prices.....I would always end up needing a new light bulb right away and having to pick one up at home depot or some shit and they would run me $40-$50 for a 250 or 400 watt MH. Not to mention a 600 HPS bulb is like $100 at any grow store. I got a new bulb for the 400 and a backup for the 600 for $50 and only took a few days. The girls have been under the 400 MH for one day and I can already see a lot of growth.

yah, that site rocks pipe.. i picked up a few cfl's from them and they were super cheap, and they have the biggest wattage cfl's i've ever seen.. i got 150 actual watt ones from them.. those things are stupid big....

i'm picky about my hps bulbs though and pretty much only go with the name brands, eye, digilux, etc, etc...

Yeah man it's a good site. Why do you choose the expensive bulbs over the regular ones? Personal experience, better output, spectrum? I still have the expensive bulb I got with the light and am planning on using the MH as well as the HPS, so I'm not worried about the spectrum too much. I do love the way the lights look with that combo I'm sure the plants like it too.

i'd love to be able to run dual lamps like that as i hear plants eat that shit up and they simply love the fuller spectrum of both the mh's and hps, but i don't have anywhere near the room to do so..

but yah, i think that the more expensive bulbs have a better spectrum, more suited to growing plants instead of say lighting up a dark street or w/e...
there was this old thread on here called something like you don't think bulb brand matters, and dude did a side by side using a cheaper bulb and a brand name one in his grow, and i was blown away by the difference in growth between the two.. after seeing that, i simply stick with the pricier bulbs.. plus, the way i figure it, $!00 or so every six months or so isn't a bad investment if it makes a difference.. i do however get super pissed when a good brand bulb blows on me early.. i had an eye that way about a month or so old go bad in my digital ballast, so now i go with digilux and haven't had an issue..

I do remember that thread Racer. Looks like the bulb makes a big difference. Good thing it's just a back up in case my bulb goes out. The one I have is Agrosun, I wonder which is better?

So, I got everything finished so the plants start flower today. I'm happy with how they look so far, and how my setup came together.

i didn't know you scrogged.. i've always thought about trying a scrog, but i'm too scurred to venture outside of my comfort zone, lol... seriously though, it does seem like a kickass way to get bigger numbers in small spaces..

shit's looking good.. i just flipped my sour 13, ecsd x g13, and just got some blue dream clones i'm vegging out for a big before i flower those...

Well since I almost got charged with cultivation, I need to keep my plant numbers low. So now I'm just growing big plants. The PE has such good structure and yielded so well, I had to try her out as a monster. I wish I had kept other plants instead, but what are you going to do?

You finally decided to grow a clone? Are you planning on growing the DJ Short seeds and comparing them sometime? Do you have a journal?

so many questions, lol... i've grown clones before, but only shit i cloned myself, nothing really from an outside source like this time with the blue dreams... i wasn't really planning on growing more than the one plant this grow simply because it's summer and last summer i had sooo many issues with the heat.. i wasn't even going to have a grow this summer and wait till things cooled off some, but this shit is addictive, lol, plus i decided to just run the a/c non stop for the summer, something i really didn't want to do but had no choice really if i wanted to grow..

i'd love to do the azure haze along side of the blue dreams, maybe i will, not sure yet.. i'll wait to see how the blue dreams turn out first i guess.. i just grew some gdps from connoisuer, and that shit was super dank.. kinda pissed i didn't keep a clone around of it for sure..

no grow journal now though.. i can really only take doing one every once in awhile or so as it's a lot of work to keep on top of it and do a good job on it imo.. i get burnt out fast doing a journal on every grow.. i'll try and take a few pix along the way though and maybe i'll post some pix in a smoke report or w/e... i'll see how i feel..

i have used Lumalux, Sun master, Son Agros, Conversion bulbs, MH in 400-430-600 and 1000 and basic Nedco warhouse bulbs.

I ONLY flower under the EYEHortilux 1000 placed horizontally now, and veg under the T-50 HO bulbs. best mix for SOG set ups.

dammn really feeling that bust, I was reading on and was really interested in the c99 by frost brothers as I haven't found any reviews but the pineapple pheno seems nice No pics?would u recommend them?

Racerboy grew them, and raved about it. I never got a decent sample to judge it but I'd say they grow quickly and uniformly, and they have a very strong pleasing fragrance. I would love to grow some more sometime and I'm sure I will, it just won't be anytime soon. Dizz has released the seeds for sale recently, under the name frost bros, so now everybody can try them.

Today is 2 weeks of flower so today I will trim off all the undergrowth which doesn't receive much light. The plants are flowering nicely and I have set up the MH in the tent with the HPS. It has been getting pretty warm in there, but I don't have a thermometer so I'm not sure how hot it is. I got some clones to root so if the SC or PB is worthy of keeping, I will grow them again. I also tested some of the seeds from my crosses and they germinated in less than 48 hours so that is good. I was a little worried about them because most of them are pale white like the ones I used. So I got some C99 x Mikado and PE x c99 to add to my collection. I'll try to get some pics later.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Unfortunately after my last update, my plants started to yellow up and had a lot of leaves die rapidly. I have been told it was likely the cal-mag I was using for a short time. Finally it rained so I collected some more rain water, but the damage is pretty much done. There will still be plenty of buds regardless which is good, I just hope they have enough energy left to dense up like they did last time. Tomorrow is the end of 6 weeks of flowering. I think the Strawberry Cough (which I don't think is legit now) will likely be done first at 8 weeks and the Pink Lady (Which is not pink, and likely not what it is supposed to be either) will probably be 3 more weeks. I am kinda bummed about the dispensary clones because the PL reminds me of many sativas I have grown that were sort of boring. It has a lemony, grassy smell, not berry or "kushy" like I expected. The SC is indica dominant and looks rather leafy so trimming will probably be a PITA. However it has a good smell and good sized buds. Both seem to be good yielders, go figure. The thing that sucks though is that I'm pretty much stuck with them for at least one more grow no matter how dull and boring they turn out to be, and then, I'm pretty much stuck growing female seeds because males would be such a waste of my time and space. I'll probably plant some Delicious Caremello, some OG18, and some Sour P next.
