No one is taking personal...this thread was to find people to play a game, not for some lame to stroke his ego with pages of retarded posts. If you're not here to play, why post when there are thousands of other threads to post on?

WoW was a fun game for a little while, but it is so ridiculously easy I lost interest in it after all my toons were 70+. The original Everquest was probably one of the best MMORPG ever, It was hard as fuck and if you died it was a long walk back to your corpse combined with a weeks worth of XP loss if you weren't able to get a rez, if you wanted to go somewhere you walked or got a port from a druid or a wizzy. EQ had some major tough ass monsters that required some real strategy to defeat. To get the best items in the game you would have to do LOOOOONG ass quests that might take a year(a real year) or more to complete. I once did the quest for the blued 2 handed hammer, took me 16 months on and off and I was the second person in the entire game to complete the quest. Not enough time to play in the summers, too much outdoor stuff to do.

I agree...EQ was the shit. I loved WoW the most during BC and quit for a while after wotlk came out. Was too commercial for me, and like you said, ridiculously easy. Cata is def better than wotlk, brought back CC and you have to actually be able to stay out of the fire if you don't want to die :P The best part was some of the people I met playing, and remembering the good times keeps me coming back. Every once in a while I find a good guild. Guild raiding / pvp with ppl you're cool with is the shit. I'm going to hang around until next xpac before deciding if I'll quit for good. I just love me some video games :) Can't wait for the Elder Scrolls MMO...
 
I played Everquest for years, best mmo still IMO, although the graphics really look dated. WoW was just too easy and too cartoony for me, plus all the battle.net kiddies was a jarring change from the more adult user base on EQ.

I've played Vanguard and Rift as well...both decent games, but nothing has the sense of a big world and realism of EQ
 
I agree.. EQ was fab. EQ2 was okay. There's apparently a third installment in the works, tentatively titled EQ Next, which I've been keeping an eye on.

Anyway, I don't play WoW but I do have a buddy key left for TSW beta if anyone is interested.

Graphics and kids is what bothers me about WoW too, I liked the players more when I played on the EU servers...would love to play a revamped EQ. Tried to play Aion...it was beautiful and had interesting quest lines but the whole flying while PvPing wasn't my thing. What are you playing now? Still EQ?

I'm really digging it but I've been a fan of Funcom and Ragnar Tornquist for years now. It's not for everybody - but here's a link if you wanna check it out. http://www.thesecretworld.com/

They've been making some good improvements on the client lately. Pushed back the release date a couple of weeks to clean up some glitches, which is good imo.

The thing that turns most people off (and some people on) is the no classes, no leveling, mix and match skill system. I really dig it though, you can customize your toon for any group you're running with. I signed up with the Illuminati and am currently rocking an assault rifle + chaos magic setup.

Yea I saw that! Was actually kind of appealing that there isn't any leveling...and have never played a MMO that was "modern". Appreciate the key!

It's a neat game and you can easily get sucked in...but for real..it is still just a game...
