Hence the "can" be flammable. I didnt state that its flammable itself because it isnt.
not to beat a dead horse, but HOW?
Your statement confuses the hell out of me..
first off, I don't want to disrespect you at all, so this is meant with the highest respect. Just thought i'd share.
it CANNOT be flammable, unless the actual molecular composition of it is changed.
like adding oxygen molecules to it, but THAT is FAR from being nitrogen.
N2O (nitrous oxide), or NOx nitrides of oxides, (formed at temps of 2500 deg or higher under pressure and heat nitrogen and oxygen BIND together, NOx is a pollutant, I happen to know a thing or two in that regard.
nitrogen is (believe it or not) what makes your car go.
When hydrocarbon and oxygen are under pressure and ignited at the ratio of around 14.7/1 (stoichiometry for gasoline) it explodes, but the nitrogen (being inert and NON explosive OR flammable, only expands with the explosion and forces your piston down.
It's the expansion of the nitrogen under that heat that makes your car go.
the entire concept wouldn't work in the slightest if nitrogen wasn't inert.
