Well I raised the lights all the way up, turned each fixture to 50% power and lowered the temp as low as I can get it with what I have. I got them down to 71f and got the water down to 61f. It didn't effect them they stretched like champions lol.
well i am surprised, LOL

when i flip my plants, for the first 3 weeks of flower i leave the MH bulb in, as the plants are still effectively vegging it will reduce the stretch as the MH bulb will provide more of the white light spectrum the plant is using,
if you use a HPS bulb for the first few weeks of 12/12 you will get more stretch than a MH as the hps has less white light in its spectrum, the plant will stretch to look for white light

It`s not that it has less white light, more that it has more deep red and more heat/ir and more red.... if you run some blue leds with a hps and keep the temps down its don`t happen so much extra blue/uv kills mold, sativa`s are from hot damp places so they grow tall, indica`s from dryer places with less mold so stay short

ever think that maybe stretch is simply defense against bud rot that happened over years and years as the plants spread to warmer wetter climits ?

and "stretch" is exhibited by many plants, its an effort to get part of the plant above the neighboring plants canopy so it can take full advantage of the available sun

Just getting them wrapped up took a little longer to locate some of the material needed. A lot of the grow shops around here at always under stocked and it's hit and miss on hydro shit around here. Anyone know of any good hydro shops around flint Michigan that are actually knowledgeable about hydro and don't look at you stupid when you ask a question about it? I swear most places around here think it's rocket science

Well let's see how this goes, this is my first time doing a scrog. They were way too large and were a pain in the ass getting under the screen. Broke a couple of branches but I have a feeling the screen is going to fill out plus some. I would say 3/4 the screens have plant material under them but the plants stretched terribly when i lifted the lights in veg. There were some nodes that had 3-4" gaps. I ended up getting the screens about 8" above the buckets.
