Point me in the right direction

I live in north east Ohio .
Yesterday I found a brand new 10x12 polycarbonate green house on market place for $150 .
You may ask , what do I know about growing in a green house ?
Zip , nada , nothing , zilch.

The one single thing I do know is i think I am going to go with auto flower . I need a shorter and predictable growing season as I typically take a two or three week camping / fishing trip mid September .
So maybe some of you can point me towards some threads to educate myself a little before I start asking dumb questions .

A little more info ..

So some of my random thoughts.
I have a good spot to set up the green house , there was a garden shed in the spot a few years ago .
I can easily rake off a bit of dead grass and set up on a nice grade level limestone gravel surface .
Or alternately , I have a big huge stack of those ugly concrete pavers that turned from red to bright pink after 20 years in the sun that no one wants And could easily add a couple inches of sand and have a nice above grade hard surface that will drain very well and maybe be less humid .
The grade level gravel is a nice hard surface and will drain well enough on its own .
And I dunno .. maybe be a little easier to keep ventilated when it's hot out without the concrete pavers collecting heat ...

And I need to learn how to pick out some proper genetics for my area .

Depending on the area it’s going to get really hot in there. Most plants I ran outside took the high temps/low RH like champs. Autos didn’t fare so well for me.. but most likely they were garbage seeds.
Put a couple 20” box fans in there to blow air around. (Unless you have a big oscillating fan. Germinate asap if you plan on being all done come September. As soon as they pop (seeds) toss em outside. If they die they die is what I always tell myself.

I'm old and fat so I won't lie and say I'll have it put up in any time soon enough to make any photo period work in my time frame .

And it's going to be a small grow , I'll have Mark out an area to see how I like it but it's only 10×12 . I want to have any easy life and not be crowded
Three maybe four 20 gallon pots right in the middle . Probably just three I mentioned being old and fat...

If you want to finish that early, you might want to look into ”light deprivation” to induce earlier flowering. I know that area can be unpredictable with the weather (I grew up in the 440 area). Late September can bring sustained temps in the 80’s or you can have early frosts. I’d aim to finish early, when the weather is more consistent, or consider running autos outside. If they suck, just make hash with em. You’ll need good circulation/ventilation, because you can’t really dehumidify outside.

You don't want to run autos if your going to cashcrop a green house. They are to unpredictable, not uniform, not clonable or keepable. You want to find some good photos you can clone sir

You also have to keep an eye on your heating and heating source, with a greenhouse. My dad had one attached to our house, and it was heated with a small oil stove. It caught fire one day in 1973, and almost burned the house down.

Well I'm not cash cropping, three possibly four plants for personal use .
Maybe next year I'll be prepared for a photo period grow , definitely going to have to be autos this year .

I won't have any heat source except that yellow ball in the sky .

I can run out an extension cord to run a fan or two .. that's about it for power.

You can always start the autos in the green house and then move the pots outdoors when it warms up. In Oklahoma I have planted autos in pots outdoors in mid April and harvested early to late July several times. Just never found an auto worth smoking twice.

you do have a point . 15 or 20 gallon pots wouldn't be hard to move with a dolly it wouldn't have ever crossed my mind

5 gallon pots can work if you put some straw or other insulation around them to keep the heat off the root zone. Much easier to move. My autos ranged from 63 to 83 days from sprout to harvest, they don't need that much food.

I think I'll hold off on using the pavers for floor , I found a glitch to moving plants outdoor during hot weather .
Our new laws ( Ohio ) say outdoor plants have to be out of sight of roads and neighbors. ..
I can't exactly do that , I've waited this long to be legal so I'll follow the rules and not bring any grief on myself .
So big pots it'll be , it looks like it'll be fairly easy to pop a couple panels off the side wall at the roof peak if I need to .

A couple days with a little less wind would be nice ....

Your gonna be disappointed if you plant autos and think you are gonna be harvesting 10 later.

Autos never finish as fast as the advertising tells you they do. Plan for 14 weeks and if you lucky you might chop after 12-13

I'm good with 14 weeks and still having enough time to dry and cure after .
My main issue with photo period right now is i already have plans this fall for a camping / fishing trip and don't have anyone reliable enough to take care of and watch over plants while I'm gone .

If it works out and I don't hate it , next year I'll plan ahead and do things different.
I also want to do this in as easy a fashion as I can so I don't hate it , I figure with what the green house cost me and a few things I'll need to buy like 4x4's and some ground anchors I'll have about the same amount of money invested in this as what electricity will cost me for a indoor grow .
I'm cheap ... the sun is free

In your situation autos are exactly what you want. I grew a lot of different auto strains when I started out, the only strain I didn't hate was Fast Buds girl scout cookies. She gives good yeilds of high quality weed.

Second this. I don’t personally love autos, but have one going now along with a photo. She’s at week 13 and I’m not certain she’s done yet. Prefer the control aspect of photos. Also second the above note about ventilation. That thing can be a sauna with no air exchange, so just make sure that contingency is covered. Good luck from Toronto!

I had several strains finish from 63 to 75 days.

I've been second guessing myself on if I really want to put up the green house . Is it worth the work for what I want . I.e. a few plants for personal use .
I do like the idea of not having to run lights and having it outside the house .
But I am liking the idea of everyone driving down my road being able to see the green house ... less and less the more I stew on this
