When the strobe light goes out your brain fills in the rest based on your feelings and if you feel fear, it fills the blinks in appropriately. You've seen the the slow motion effects they produce, as has anybody in our generation. He was using unauthorized equipment, inappropriately and using it improperly. Strobe use by cops needs to be banned and this is the reason why. The cop is guilty of negligence at least and will no doubt be fired for not following procedure and using unauthorized equipment. The video looks bad and I can't blame people for being pissed, the stroboscopic effect is not apparent in the video. I ain't the prosecutor however and the immunity cops enjoy will kick in, in this instance.
I saw that video the guy made about it too. And it is compelling.

I think you are jumping the gun on if it was authorized or not though, I am going to wait for more actual information.

Just an opinion, I never looked too deeply into this unfortunate incident and generally don't, with 145 mass murders in America since the beginning of the year and the killings by cops, it would be overwhelming. It sure must be expensive too, all the investigations, lawsuits, medical and prison costs should be borne by gun owners, with an annual tax per weapon! ;) Just like your vehicle licensing helps pay for roads, insurance is required for cars, so why not guns, it's a logically consistent argument.

Much easier if they just disappeared them like the 130 or so indigenous women that 'disappear' in Canada every year?

Yep, murder happens everywhere and so does racial biases, we had a truth and reconciliation commission on it, but it was not good. There is a lot of focus on it though and has been for awhile, it's not mysterious "white men" doing most of the killing though, judging by the ones we know about. That was 130 individuals over the course of a year, not 145 mass homicides, plus everyday murders, plus police shootings, since the beginning of the year. A year ago today we had a mass murder here in NS with 22 people murdered, he got the guns from the states, because he couldn't own one here, or ammunition, which is why others are charged for providing it to him. American guns kill Canadians too, lot's of them.

The government can only control policy, not human hearts, our policy on vaccinations is first nations first, because they are so vulnerable and we have those folks protected in a far higher percentage than most Americans are now, the rest of us are muddling through as best we can.

Here is a map on this page, the northern areas are mostly native Americans and those in lower Canada are getting the same treatment. Note the vaccination rate where I live in NS on the east coast and I don't resent them moving ahead at all, support it in fact.

If there are any good cops, they must be a small minority.

A sociopath for sure, these people were just in her way, especially her boy friend's daughter, who probably had her figured out. Christ the trash they let through, no screening worth a fuck, they probably let her off because everybody she ever busted or testified against would be appealing.

The former sheriffs detective was fired last summer for sexually assaulting a child and is now on a murder spree, only the finest.

I wonder when a black man in a US city who shoots a cop, or a pair of them, claims self defense and gets off in court by being found not guilty by a mostly black jury, will happen? Besides, they tried to violate his second amendment rights, as well as threaten his life. A not guilty verdict would send a message, but the cops would shoot black people out of hand after that. It's coming though, if changes aren't made, so are urban black militias licensed by black mayors for community self defense.

Pictures of black panthers holding assault weapons back in the day caused Ronald Reagan to impose gun control laws in California and not much else. Black people will start carrying weapons in their cars when local urban black militias are watching the cops and even shooting them. When they pull over a young black man, if heavily armed black militia types showed up in the area with body armor on things might change.

This is where this shit is gonna lead one day, if something serious isn't done about police reform. At least it would lead to a ban on militias in many states, open carry too. Armed black people are the fastest way to gun laws.

I don't know if your Serb,Croat,or Muslim but My impression was that Tito's death caused a power grab free for all,in which all hostilities kept under the surface by a dictator came to a boil w/him gone, I'm not super informed about your country to point fingers, from what I seen the Serbs and Croats both had some war criminals in their ranks and some of the massacres that happened there were stunning to the outside eye. I believe the West was forced to act and was very reluctant to do so but was drawn in by the coverage of genocide and massacres of villages(ethnic cleansing). It was sloppy as was to be expected but I think in the long run it probably stabilized things and saved some innocent lives.ccguns
I kinda agree with you..
Too much extremist rise up from both sides, but serbs "rebel" of Croats Claiming Indepentends from YUgoslavija..
And all shit started...And let me be Clear both side wanted un peaceful separation.. After wars in Croatia,Bosnia, and even Kosovo they still represent them selfs like Victims.. But I really think that Yugoslavia was in way of Some Foreign Powers.. You know what they say,; divide and conquer.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Body camera footage from other officers released Wednesday in the fatal police shooting of Ma’Khia Bryant, a Black teenager who charged at two people with a knife, showed a chaotic scene that happened within minutes of the verdict in George Floyd’s killing and ignited outrage by many over the continued use of lethal force by police in Columbus and the U.S.

Officials with the Columbus Division of Police had released initial footage of the shooting Tuesday night just hours after it happened, which was a departure from protocol as the force faces immense scrutiny from the public following a series of recent high-profile police killings that have led to clashes.

Bryant was 16 and in foster care with Franklin County Children’s Services at the time of her death. Her grandmother, Debra Wilcox, described her as a shy and quiet girl, who liked making hair and dance videos on TikTok.

“The fact that I see what I saw on that video is not how I know my Ma’Khia,” Wilcox told The Associated Press on Wednesday. “I don’t know what happened there unless she was fearful for her life.”

The incident has caused an outcry in the community and nationwide as Bryant’s killing is the second high-profile fatal shooting of a teenager by police in the last month. Body camera footage released last week showed an officer shoot and kill 13-year-old Adam Toledo in Chicago.

“It’s a tragedy. There’s no other way to say it. It’s a 16-year-old. I’m a father,” Interim Columbus Police Chief Michael Woods told reporters Wednesday. “Her family is grieving. Regardless of the circumstances associated with this, a 16-year-old lost her life yesterday.”

He added, “I sure as hell wish it wouldn’t have happened.”

White House press secretary Jen Psaki called the Columbus shooting “tragic” and said President Joe Biden has been briefed on it.

“She was a child. We’re thinking of her friends and family and the communities that are hurting and grieving her loss,” Psaki said in a statement.

The 10-second body camera clip begins with the officer, identified Wednesday as Nicholas Reardon, getting out of his car at a house where police had been dispatched after someone had called 911 saying they were being physically threatened, Woods said. It remains unclear who called the police.

The officer, who was hired by the force in December 2019, is seen taking a few steps toward a group of people in the driveway when Bryant starts swinging a knife wildly at another girl or woman, who falls backward. The officer shouts several times to get down.

Bryant then charges at another girl or woman, who is pinned against a car.

From a few feet away, with people on either side of him, the officer fires four shots, and Bryant slumps to the ground. A black-handled blade similar to a kitchen knife or steak knife lies on the sidewalk next to her.

A man immediately yells at the officer, “You didn’t have to shoot her! She’s just a kid, man!”

The officer responds, “She had a knife. She just went at her.”

The race of the officer wasn’t clear and he was taken off patrolling the streets for the time being.

Bryant was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said. Police did not say if anyone else was injured.

In the moments after the shooting, people living or visiting the street filmed as police roped off the area with yellow tape in front of the house where the shooting took place.

A neighbor’s video shows an officer performing CPR on the teenager while a man can be heard yelling, “You all just jumped out of the (expletive) car and shot her!”

Neighbors stood in open doorways filming and behind cars shaking their heads, eyewitness footage showed.

Woods said state law allows police to use deadly force to protect themselves or others, and investigators will determine whether this shooting was such an instance.

Ohio’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation is now reviewing the killing following a recent agreement with the city.

The shooting happened about 25 minutes before a judge read the verdict convicting former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin of murder and manslaughter in the killing of Floyd. It also took place less than 5 miles from where the funeral for Andre Hill, who was killed by another Columbus police officer in December, was held earlier this year. The officer in Hill’s case, Adam Coy, a 19-year veteran of the force, is now facing trial for murder, with the next hearing scheduled for April 28.

Less than three weeks before Hill was killed, a Franklin County Sheriff’s deputy fatally shot 23-year-old Casey Goodson Jr. in Columbus. The case remains under federal investigation.

Last week, Columbus police shot and killed a man who was in a hospital emergency room with a gun on him. Officials are continuing an investigation into that shooting.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine said Wednesday that he watched the footage of Bryant’s killing and called it a “horrible tragedy.”

He added that while the public has the video evidence, “we need to let the investigation play out.”

The Republican governor also detailed upcoming legislation to boost police accountability in the state and overhaul policing. The effort was initially introduced in another form with Attorney General Yost in the days after Floyd’s killing last summer.

The new bill, to be introduced by GOP State Rep. Phil Plummer, of Dayton, would, among other things, establish an oversight board for law enforcement in the state. DeWine said the goal of the legislation is to increase transparency in the profession.

Saw the footage, the cop made sure with multiple shots when one in the air might have done the trick, too quick to shoot a black kid multiple times and they say one cop showed up in a blue lives matter mask, not cool.

Losing control of our emotions can get us killed, especially if you are black and cops are involved. She was completely caught up with narrowed perceptions and oblivious to the danger. After calling the cops she went after two people in quick succession with a knife, just as the cops arrived. A tazer should have been the first choice, but it was a gun again.

I have difficulty judging this situation, except to say a gun was too quick to be used and training to aim for the center of mass is not always a good idea, if you have to use one, people have legs and getting shot in them gets people's attention.
It's all Monday morning quarter backing though, the prosecutors and judge will have to sort through the aftermath. If there were better social and mental health services it might not have come to this.

I get there are evil fucks in this world ... regardless of their age. Teen killers exist. But because they are young doesn’t mean they get a pass. The victim ( s ) are probably not crying over end result .... cop made a decision and it stopped the crime.

Watch two teen dumbfucks try to rob this guy .... they failed. They would have been shot if they shoved a gun in my face like that.
Even if they pulled a plastic gun , it would have ended badly for them.

After watching the video, gotta side with cop on this one. He just arrived on scene and evaluated the situation he saw. He has some seriously sharp eyes to have caught the knife was in her hand because no one else around seemed to notice it. Appears to me he did his job and followed proper procedures.

P.S. Chauvin on the other hand deserves worse than he's probably going to get. The other 3 officers on scene should all go down with him.

P.P.S. Waters was stupid to incite the crowd like that. That's like something Trump would do.
