With the digital microscope do you have to have it plugged into the computer when in use or can you take it to your grow room and take pics there? Sorry for going off the topic.

the digi micro can go anywhere there is a power point.
It has internal memory that can be downloaded direct to the computer..
Or..
you can use your camera memory card..like I do..and download from there.

That is the edge of a calyx..trics in focus..
the big white bit on the right is the Seed.



This is a pull back of focus...and you can see what you are talking about..
the "Spines" are the plant hairs.
You can see they are a lot small/finer than the trics in the background.
You can also see..they look as if they are filling up..same as the trics..
My guess is that this is the terps.



Structurally..the Hairs are very similar to the trics...
so I see the Possibilities.

That Hym Blue male is great..Love the leaf trics..I couldn't have resisted that photo..

Yeah..first photo top pheno..looks like beetroot and carrots..

the one below is the black line..showing the red..
and the others are ALF#3.
I was the same as you in the party cup...
I Think I got between 11-14 g's...
and FD whupped me with around 64 g's..
can't remember which cross though...

Guess we gotta try it again next season...'til we come up with Better.

She would have been taller but i tried fimming and missed, so it got topped on accident. Let me know what you all think. Sorry my camera sucks. These pics do not show half the crystals.

Looks good to me. I have been wondering about that particular auto. Did you get any phenos that had that carrot/earthy/incence skunky/haze smell? Or were they all fruity. While reading about it the breeders say that the auto trait comes in a fruity "Pack" which they had a hard time breeding out.


Mossy, i bet they are the terps. Seeing as how the oils are at the end of a spindly little spine. easliy brushed off by some thing, they also seem to be taller than the trics. Maybe easyer for the terps to evap in to the air, not all packed in by the trics.

Would be interesting to use the scope, collect a sample and get it tested. See if there are psycoactive bits in there or what exactly that oil is. I've seen those spikes before but never with the oil on the ends of them like that. I've seen oily like sunstance come out of some leaves, like a pimple kind of deal. Really interesting stuff going on, can't wait until FD comes back. I am curious on his take.

Wouldn't it be some thing if you could catalog the different terp chemicals.. Each terp smell has to be chemically unique. I bet if you prove they are there, you'd have naming rights. ha!

THAT is the work that they have been doing in the Book....analysing the Terps....
that is what I have been excited about..
(I was doing the Wiggle as I was reading...Someone else was thinking the same as me)

In the absense of a gas chromatograph..we need Chyna Ryder here for this work...
he is the nearest thing to a gas chrom in human form as I have seen.

They way he can pull down a bud Effect to specific med relief means if he can match aromas to effect..
we could get somewhere.

Mossy: Chyna has a nack of finding nice phenos too, he's the only other one whos posted pics of auto males with trics. I don't see him on IC much, maybe he is in transition some place too? I know marijuanapassion has a sub forum. hmm, i should msg him.
I think i need to get some new books to read, i am interested in what ed has to say about terps. That and the books by the jon are getting old.


BigBug: I can't speak for the potency as i haven't grown that line of autos yet. How ever, that smell is what a haze is suposed to smell like. Which would tell me you have a haze leaning pheno. So hopefully you get a nice sativa affect. That smell is what i am after in autos ATM, hazey skunk type smells. It would be great if it comes through in the taste to. Thanks for the heads up i might be getting a pack of those after all.

the info I Need out of it is relatively small...
But Worth it's weight in gold...
coz I've not seen it anywhere else.

I'd buy it for the Brain and Terp work alone...
But..
that is because it appeals to my own niche area of interest..

I was so impressed I have ordered his Med book too..

New..the med book costs £30...
BUT..
I got a second hand one for £6..
Once it gets here..I think we will have more info to share.

Suggestion for the Homework...
Start stashing a bit of Leaf with your bud when you harvest..
so you can roll a fattie of pure essence of the girl..leaf and bud..for aromatics
without the interference of tobacco...

AND..when you roll one...try a little bit of dry drawing...
sometimes the smell/taste can be more distinctive Before you light it up.

Don't I just do the Best homework....

HigH people just stopping by to post some pics of my autos from my first ever grow. They will be harvested in 7-9 days! Hells Yeah! Well I have two Onyx and one EasyRyder autos. 1 Onyx is 25" tall and the other is 20" tall. The EasyRyder is just over 24" tall. I am using a 270W Enhanced Spectrum Supernova LED light. I am very pleased with the way my light has performed! I am a rookie but IMO I think my plants have turned out pretty nice for my first time. Anyway here is the Big Onyx:

Mossy: LOL, that's the best home work i have ever received. I will cure some with the buds for sure, i usually keep the good trim and make hash oil from it. It doesn't ever smell the same as the cured stuff. So will do that next time.
I never mix in tabaco, if i did i'd be back on cigs in no time. I got back on them a few years back just from odd cigars while playing cards at the casino. Was the hardest time yet to get off them.
I was watching strain hunters on you tube, green house seeds production. Pretty epic stuff, the first edition in malawi. They get to choose from thousands of phenos to pick the best plant and take seeds back. You just can't get any better than that. If your ever bored look it up, their india trip is bloody great also. Makes a fella want to travel.

The blue himilaya was a super frosty auto, i only got one pure female and that resinous male from a pack. It really smelled of berry, way more than any /1212 BB i have smoked. I'd like to test those seeds i made, maybe one day. I am off berry and fruit.. Which is why i am soo into the mosskit.


CD: Those are looking fantastic. That led sure grew them big enough! How is the bud density? Hope they smoke as good as they look! Thanks for the additions mate.
