I decided to take positive action this morning about the yellowing, necrosis and brown spots on a few of my plants. One or two of the ones that I added K to has completely come back to normal but some of the others are yellowing, not many but enough to kick me into action to "do something" about it. So I decided to give them a really good douching. I took each pot and held it under the spigot until it was fairly saturated with water, then I smushed the sides of the pot (the container, not the plant) and made sure that the whole thing was thoroughly saturated. I let them drain then sat them back out in the sun. Photo #5 is of the ones I was most concerned about. Also, you can see how there are 4 main colas coming along beautifully, especially in pix #4,7 & 8. The MTF autos already have buds (pic #4) but the lowberry doesn't have any yet. I'm wondering if maybe they will take more than 60 days - not that it's an issue for me. Photo #3 is the next generation of MTF's. This seems to be a royal pain in the ass strain when it comes to germinating. I have tried it several ways and have found that (1) they LOVE heat, and (2) they HATE too much water. I tried planting them directly in the soil, with the end of the seed where it connected to the plant pointing downwards. I covered them with about 1/2" of sifted potting soil, watered them, put the dome over them to keep them moist but not wet, put them on a heating mat and a light over them - and only 4 seed out of 72 came up. This is the third time I've planted directly into the soil, that being over 200 seeds, and I'm not happy with the results at all. So I'm going back to the paper towel method - with a twist - to see if I can get results. I wet the paper towel. put the seeds on it, folded it over a few times, making a neat little package, then put them (I did 5 different sets) into a large plastic storage bag, put it in the planter under the dome and put it out in the sun to get really toasty. I'll check this evening to see if any have popped. Over night I will keep them on a heat mat and I'll also add a small heater and try to keep the temp between 85 and 95. I should see results from that.
The ones I put in the ground are looking very happy, especially the kushes (pix 7 &
; that has to be the happiest, easiest to grow strain that I've ever done. Still no roots on any of the clones yet; I looked at each one of them this morning. I'm really starting to get nervous about them, although they appear to be still in relatively good health. The room still smells amazing from the aroma of the tops. Next time I go to town I'll pick up a bottle of Clonex to add to the water, maybe throw in a couple of drops of Superthrive too.
