Preflower stretch

Hey Everybody, New member , Long time reader. Im used to growing photos indoors so i decided to give autos a shot while i had the room. Wont get into setup specifics but i have a Haze XL thats roughly 5 weeks old and has started showing pistills. Soil ph was off at first so unfortunately i transplanted into happy frog. Shes since greened up and started growing. Question is, Can i expect stretch like with photoperiod or is she stuck as a runt ?20210501_063326~2.jpg

If it's showing pistils at that size expect it to be a runt. Sorry.

The new growth is looking good so I think it will stretch some, no guarantees though. What I would do: keep under 24hrs light for a few weeks to veg as much as you can, when growing slows then switch to 20/4 till harvest.
What I would also do: start some more seeds

Didnt have very many roots when transplanted. Ive been scared to death i was going to over water so ive just misted the leaves a few times ocassionaly in the morning.
Bad idea for future reference. Transplant when the roots have filled the current container. Overwatering is giving water too often, as in watering when the soil is still wet. This includes misting the plants. Put the spray bottle away forever, I've never used one.

Ive seen some pretty phenomenal stretches in my time. A plant smaller than that ended up nearly 4ft tall and I had to top her otherwise she would’ve ended up in the light fixture lol

You might just be surprised at how big she’ll get - time will tell.

What might make u happier is that the bigger the pot the bigger the buds. I transplanted an auto 2 weeks into flower from a 1 gallon to a 3 gallon. Plant didn’t get bigger but the buds were much bigger than if I had left it in the 1 gallon.

Ive pulled 2 ounces off an indica dominant plant that was 14" tall. It was topped and trained so all branches got equal light. Not bad for a little girl.

I've got 2 stunted autos also. Bout 5 or 6 weeks same as yours, they are still growing albeit slow, I don't expect too much more out of them but they already got bigger than I thought so hang in there, and like anexgrower said, start more seeds. I went hempy this time around. That plant is almost as big as my stunted ones and it's only a couple weeks from seed.

As an added note, my issue was mostly water related also, pH too high (neutral) and watering too often and too cold also. I do pH water now with vinegar but it isn't stable past a couple days. Will start to come back neutral. I dump it and make fresh, probably does nothing but I shake the water vigorously before using it. In my brain it adds oxygen lol.

Yeah, I knew enough to plant in final five gallon container , Didnt realize how picky these autos seem to be. I used soil from last grow thinking it would hopefully be spent enough to not have nute burn issues , My mistake (learning curve) . only reason i even started this grow was curiosity and schedule( Hopefully fast harvest) Ended up digging a seedling out of a big container and transplanting. I'll grow her out and learn , Now im even more curious!!! Thanks for replys. I dont consider myself a newbie but theres always something new.

Shaking your container does help add oxygen. As long as ph is where you need it when you water youll be fine. I use white vinegar to lower ph with great results.

Looks a little light on N … even though HF is nuted ( mild ) give her a good veg feed …let her store up some nutes “ for the stretch “. Nitrogen will aid in the leaf pigment and photosynthesis of fans. If not .. plant will pull from those leaves as they are and fade out.

You CAN foliar some mag sulfate ( epsom) to help green her up.

Time will tell where plant ends up in size. Just try not to throw kitchen sink at it. Not sure why so many issues with autos lately in threads but you can ride a growth with just bagged soil feeds or cooked mix .
Even soil drench/ teas.

Kinda looks like a humidifier with high calcium tap water has been breathing on them at least that's what it looked like when I did that the first time.
I will say this... I have been using the same sprayer bottle full of water. Maybe its been long enough to be calcium deposit on leaves. Only been a week or so. Ph had checked close to neutral and no nutes so i was just spraying for moisture in between watering.
