I tried to run the factory as close to an outside factory as possible. I would tell new inmates that if they will come to work & not act like an inmate, I wouldn't treat them like one. Many told me that coming to work was like leaving the prison for 8hrs a day. I ran interference as best I could within reason. I treated them like employees. I had very little influence with the custody staff other than we worked an weekday schedule & I had a little say over who the officers in my factory were. But I couldn't pull that card very often & only for good reason. But I took care of my guy's, if they needed to see the dentist or there counselor I would call & get them in. Little stuff like that went a long way in there...

I got picked up for possession of marijuana once. Had half ounce of buds, and half ounce of ground up buds. The black cop took what was already ground/cleaned, and only turned in the half ounce of actual buds. The charge was less, and he got free bud. Win/win for everyone.........
