The only problem with germing in paper towels is the possibility of disturbing the fragile root. Personally the best way I've found is to place the seeds in a cup of water until they sink, which generally takes 12 hours or less, take an 18oz solo cup like the kind you may have played beer pong with, fill it with root substrate and water until completely saturated (obviously drill holes through the bottom of the cup for runoff). Then take a pencil or pen and poke a hole
1/8th to 1/4 inch deep but no deeper! Place the seed in the hole and cover it, don't water again until they are up unless the soil crusts over, 2-4 inches away from fluorescent light. I've had a 100% success rate with this method and just germed some rare dankness dark shadow haze in coco. No plastic wrap needed, keep it simple!
Don't feed yet and pH shouldn't really be an issue for a couple weeks but you can if you want.
