Pure Power Plant - 4x4 & 315 LEC. 1st grow!

Hello everybody! Long time lurker here, finally got around to setting everything up and popping some Pure Power Plant seeds from Nirvana purchased @ Southern Oregon seeds.

Medium is 50/50 Happyfrog/Pearlite & MEGACROP by Greenleaf Nutrients.

Germinated 5 PPP seeds on 8/26. 1 of them looked very immature, didn’t have high hopes for it.

3/5 popped the soil on 8/28. 1 week later the other 2 didnt pop. 1 of them being the runt seed, the other had a shriveled tap root? appears it got stuck in its own shell. Thanks for looking & more updates to come!

I grew ppp back in 2008 or 2009 and found a wonderful plant that had a honeycombs cereal type smell and rock hard dense buds. Hope you find something nice.

Right on, I’m hoping for something good. I chose PPP because its supposed to be a beginner friendly strain. I plan to clone these for the experience, all around I’m trying to learn as much as I can and move on to much better genetics. Legally allowed to grow 4 in my state.

Update: Daily growth, looking great. Thinking of purchasing a swamp cooler, being in the desert I’m dealing with 30-35% rh with wet towels but they don’t seem to mind. 14 days after germination, also I’m terrible at taking pictures.

Not much to update today. They are starting to get very thirsty, opened the tent to see them wilted 30 or so hours after the last water, watered them every 3-4 days before that so something to keep in mind, node stacking looking great and nice growth daily.

Picture was taken this morning after finding them very sad and thirsty and giving them a good watering last night.

New update, ran into my first hurdle. Came home after work to find them droopy again on Thursday, no biggy because the solo cups felt bone dry so just a quick drink. I already planned on this next watering being the 1st feed & noticed the lower leaves starting to lighten up anyways so I started Megacrop @ 1g per gallon. I think I over watered this time though, saturating the whole cup. This medium is very airy so I wasn’t that worried but they have remained droopy since. The cups were light again today and noticed they had started to wilt even more so I gave them a small amount of water, about the same I would give before I ran into this problem. I would also like to note that 2 out of the 3 are the only ones showing these symptoms, the other hasn’t been affected and is happily growing.

Edit: Nutrients were Ph’d to 6.3-6.5 before going in. I use the liquid fresh water dropper test so it’s hard to get an exact number but easy to get it within range.

Nice start mate really looking good is repot these plants as there outgrown there home that’s why your having trouble

I’ve also grown ppp it’s awesone high yielding strain I’ve had over 10zips a plant in hydro but that was from cuttings of a great pheno good luck

Quick update! Transplanted into 5 gallon pots yesterday from the solo cups. Seems to have done the trick and they perked up, one of them still being a little fussy but she’ll come around. Thanks for looking!

Edit: It won’t let me edit my OP but I’d like to mention I will be flowering with a 600w or 1000w HPS I haven’t decided yet, heat wont be an issue in the central Oregon winter. If I do go with the 600w the 315 LEC would be used for supplemental lighting. More interested in the UV from the LEC w/ the HPS.

9-19 Update. 23 days after germination. I am feeding MegaCrop @ 2g per gallon now and soon to be 3. Back to seeing daily growth again, going to top soon and throw up a scrog net, also should I cut the faded lower leaves from when they were unhappy in the solo cups? Just picked up a 6” Blockbuster AC reflector for $50 on CL last night and gonna throw a 1000w in there when I flower. Slight overkill but with a scrog and the foot print blockbusters put out It will be a monster. Thanks for looking!

Small update. Day 24 veg. Topped last night and threw a Jaeger bag seed in, total plant count is 4 now. They responded well to the top, very vibrant and healthy this morning. Still feeding MegaCrop @ 2g per gallon watering every 2 days with no droopy/wilting leaves which as a beginner was my biggest concern. Thanks for looking!

Day 28 from germination. Nothing new to update, still rockin steady. Think I’m seeing some slight nitrogen toxicity in my seedling, bumped up the feeding to 3g per gallon this morning and gave it to the seedling, it didn’t respond well haha. Oh well just PH’d water from here on out until it turns around.

PS: if you spot the lower yellow leaf on the upper left plan it was from when they were bound in solo cups. Decided not to snip it but it’s an eye sore for me.

PS: When do you consider a plant in veg? It’s been 30 days from the day they popped roots and went into the soil but I feel like I’ve only been actually vegging for about 20 days. Tell me what you think!

Day 31 from germination. I can’t help but update so soon, I was comparing photos from yesterday to today and the growth overnight was insane. Still feeding 3g per gallon MegaCrop every time I water which is every 3 days right now with no wilting or drooping. I have started to tuck some fan leaves to expose more nodes to the light & scrog net is on its way. CMH is 24 inches above the plants right now. Thanks for looking!

Sounds a lot like an old school maple leaf Indica I had 2011, not crazy strong but good flavor and dense nugs.

Yea can find very high yielding 9-10 week phenotypes of PPP, its best to select the keeper not by yield, but for the kind of high some ppp phenotypes are bordering on psychedelic.

Nice. The ppp pheno I had had a great energetic sattie high and was pretty potent. I may run a couple more packs of ppp down the line and see I find another similar pheno.

That’s great to hear, I’m a big sativa guy myself so hopefully I get something potent. My main focus for this was to find something easy to grow and get my foot in the door then eventually move into better genetics. My next goal is to root clones. I’ll be putting the 315 CMH in a 3x3 when I throw the HPS in the 4x4 they are in now. Running to the hydro shop today to pickup some netting and start scrogging these, they are growing so fast lately I feel like I’m going to need to deoliate soon. Day 33 from germination.

Edit: I’ve been tucking leaves to open up light to lower nodes.

Day 35 from seed. Got somewhat of a scrog net up, I thought it would stretch tighter, it’s not bad but I’d like a little more resistance so the plants don’t push it up as they grow so I’m going to build a pvc frame and stretch another 4x4 piece over the frame to get it tighter. Thanks for looking!

Edit: purchasing a humidity dome this weekend to start taking cuts, I’ll deoliate then.
