Just checked the traps after the lights come on just now. Only found 3 more gnats for a total of 6 , think I,m fine they are drying out okay so after the next watering if I still see them I,ll drench I just really dont want to put any thing in the dirt right yet they are young.

Damn ! Well been doing some ph experiments with white vinegar . My tap water is 7.8 + ph . I had read you can use vinegar to ph down so I tryed this out . For 4 gallons it took about 2 OZ to get it down to 6 . So it works right ? THe answer is kinda no it,s only temporary so far , it always rises back to where it started . I know from experiance I guess that 7.8 is too high because my tomatoes outside are in containers and I never checked ph after a while it seemed like they wasn't growing .Checked the soil ph to find that its around 8 . TO fix this i topp dressed with sulfer it after a few days gradually droped my ph . And yeah yeah I know go buy some RO water right ? Wrong I don't want to give up my money too cheap and broke at the moment I mean if it was my only choice I would but right now I don't know what to do . If I dont ph it my ph will gradually rise in the soil . Unless the microherd is doing its job then I would,t worry problem is how the hell do u know somrthing is doing its job when u need a microscope to see it? If i do ph what should I be using that works with organics? Not to mention I noticed that gnats are attracted to vinegar so i placed a 4in pan of it my room overnight and it fucked my plants ! Large fan leaves are pointing upwards and cupped upwards. Hope I didn't totally fuck up . I got a thread going to find out about this phenomenon hope they recover i just found this 30 min ago so we will see .the leaves affected feel really soft like when they are wilting but there not wilting .Oh well almost had a perfect veg phase .

They come out okay ,some had no damage some do , the blueberrys took the worst hit those are kinda test plants anyways .The clones are my main plants for they are all female .

We had a cold spell too so I was able to run lower temps and the gnats are gone.

They all have bounced back and moving on . I can tell all though first hand DO NOT FOR ANY REASON place a pan of raw vinegar in a small grow enclousure . The fumes are a plant killer ! This happened over about 8 hrs overnight .I also found that vinegar is used as an organic weed killer it kills by reacting with sunlight somehow some reported that on overcast days it did not work as well. Diluted vinegar is okay to PH down but its a temporary fix . For me overnight it returns to the original ph value . Keep in mind this is my tap water 7.8 + PH . After the vinegar ordeal I,m steering clear of it . I switched to RO water PH 7 . It only takes 1 drop PH down to bump it to about 6.5.
Runoff is about 6.8 very good ! .

Now I'm sure some of you are going how is this an organic grow if your using PH down ? Well at this point I'm just playing it safe . How can you be sure that you have microlife in your soil ? If I knew for 100% sure they was I wouldn't worry . The Ro at 7 would be fine .So for right now until I find an organic ph down I trust , or can know that my soil is living thats how it gonna be since I just got railroaded with problems already I,m not taking no chances .So its an all organic except for the PH down for now .

if the gnats come back, my wife fixed this up for me to use, get like a small dish, bowl, throw some dish soap in it and some lemon juice and then add water. gnats get drawn to by the juice and get stuck cause of the soap and drown, worked great for me use to cackle with glee when i dumped out the dishs and watched all the gnats go bye bye, like pepper. if you didnt know about the gnat juice.

Plants are doing great now back to growing ! Gnat free now too ! I streched some pantyhose over my intake , i think i was sucking the gnats in from outside , I have looked intensely and can,t find any larve in the soil I,m thinking they was never in the soil just that my intake was pulling em in from outside .

I upped the anty on lights . Added 214 w worth of cfl's for a total of 464 watts now . Got my 250 as low as i can get it too . Just keeping plenty of circulation going to take care of the heat . Here's my updated pics .

Thanks . So far so good except for a couple hiccups . The LST has been fun , lots of tying and retying though but I can account for over 25 shoots heading up to be colas last count ,it's gonna be interesting .

Looking great man! I just went through the whole thread and your plants are thriving very well.

I am using the Age Old line as well, after using the bloom for my last grow. It turned out really great, although I started yellowing really early in flowering because I was using crap chemical grow ferts (Peters) and only very sparingly. This time I picked up the Age Old Grow and Kelp, but can't really figure out how to incorporate the Kelp. I get the grow and bloom, and my hydro store guy says use Kelp as foliar feed, but what do you do? I was thinking of maybe alternating feedings with the Grow and Kelp to provide a "balanced diet" or what?
