The first picture is the plant in question... The second picture is of another plant with all green stems and no purple.
I have been doing a lot of reading. Some articles say its genetics, some say its a deficiency. None talk about it only being on the bottom half of the plant. That's why I'm asking you experienced growers if maybe you've seen this before. I thought that's what this forum/ website was for. I don't mean to piss you off by asking simple basic newbie questions. Obviously you don't like people wasting your time asking for help. May I ask why you don't just skip over my post and just do whatever it is you do on "roll it up". You really truly don't have to concern yourself with my post since they upset you. Nobody is forcing you to click.Purple stems can be genetic but also can be from phosphorus deficiency.
You should do some reading. These are very basic questions you keep asking.

If you have not read a Grow book here is a ton of free pdf books.

And... That wasn't a basic question. A basic question is..... "How long do i leave the lights on?", or "Can i grow Cannabis indoors??". Those are basic questions sir. Thank you very much!Purple stems can be genetic but also can be from phosphorus deficiency.

Well, I've been reading and It sounds to me like it must be a Phosphorous issue. Now I'll read on how to resolve it. Your probably right research is a lot more reliable.Sorry I upset you. The answer to your question is on every result on that google page. I was going to link one but they all have good info.
It takes time to see what is going on with the plants. And a lot of practice. Whenever I get stumped I read more.
I never trusted the forum for advice. I used Grow books and Greenhouse guides for regular crops are even better.
And if you look at the leaves on both your pictured plants you will see they are showing the same symptoms from whatever is wrong.
And by the time you see a problem it is already more than a week advanced.
I admit I was a bit blunt.
Purple stems is usually mag. Its usually the first lockout to show from too much calcium.I hate when people tell me to do some reading lol. Why would I go research and read, when I could post a question to someone with experience? Not that reading isn't good for a person who is learning. I just get erked when people come to answer my question anyways, but tell me to go google or read a book. wtf? lol. No offence to michiganmed, he has a point.. just saying, different strokes for different..err ahh.. folks. (mayor quimby?)
I'm also not the most patient person.. i wish i had an all knowing computer, ask it a question, it tells me.
I personally don't worry about purple stalks. if the leaves look good, then fuck it, it's just purple. For me personally I have a lot of purple stems right now because its winter and my tent is in the basement. its gets pretty cold at night, and so that purple color kicks in. More noticeable in some strains vs others. looking at your pictures there, i personally wouldn't give it a second thought if it was my plant. just keep your feedings in check
Im just using promix without any added junk. I was considering adding a veg nute with nitrogen. Will that help with cal-mag also?Purple stems is usually mag. Its usually the first lockout to show from too much calcium.
The yellow in your tops indicate calcium too.
You really cant be deficient in both, if your plant is still green like yours.
Have you been supplementing calmag?
If so, how much?
How often?
What media are you using?
My ph is 6.9 according to the new meter i boughtWhats the ph of your root zone as well?

I read somewhere that a plant shouldn't need anything feeding for the first few weeks of its life in soil. Is that true?Purple stems is usually mag. Its usually the first lockout to show from too much calcium.

When they were 2 weeks old i fed them run off from another plant and they got burnt. i had to dig them up, wash the roots out, and re-plant in plain soil. they are better from that now, but the one is getting the red stems. I haven't fed them anything since. That was their only feeding and im afraid to feed again.Purple stems is usually mag. Its usually the first lockout to show from too much calcium.

Great you've got things sorted mateWhen they were 2 weeks old i fed them run off from another plant and they got burnt. i had to dig them up, wash the roots out, and re-plant in plain soil. they are better from that now, but the one is getting the red stems. Lockouts and deficiency looks the same. Now you have plenty of mis-information to go on rather than just reading about plant nutrients and deficiencies.
And just to answer a question asked earlier. I come in to threads like these to see if there is something new for me to learn or if a hard working new grower has a legitimate question that will actually help them learn to grow better.
Most just want quick answers and then latch on to the first attentative member without knowing if they are even correct first.
In my opinion these forums are the worst source of info for a beginner. Reading credible books is a better place to start.

Ive felt the same for a long time mate.I feel like this is a sock and they're just asking these questions to answer them on their real account
