i paid 331$ for my set up it came with a 400watt switchable ballist both lights 15foot lamp cord, super sun reflector. at Specialty Lights.com. i love it

whats up with these switchable ballasts. my ballast will automatically take MH or HPS bulbs.

Ah ok. My ballasts are MaxiGrow ballast, sort of like budget system one, but it clear states on it 400watt MH/HPS. Its also a compact ballast that might be why.

you can get a switchable ballast and bulbs for like under 200 from htgsupply.com

and yes the bulbs are extra but way cheaper for sure

well shit, all this talk of HID and I just could not resist, ran down to the hydro store and bought myself another 1000 watt hps for my bloom room...tonight when the lights come on I'm pulling out the 600 watt and putting in the new 1000 watt, it's gonna be bright 2 1000 watts in my bloom room, I'm stoked...I love HID....woooooot

my room is 8' x 6' with an 8' ceiling, I have 10 plants blooming right now but I'm aloud 12, 6 plants will fit nicely under each 1000 watter and should increase my yields some what.

Sell me that "slightly used" 600!!! I went to the Hydro store today to pic up some Bloom....they have the same 150 HPS I have for 169.00.............. I paid 16.00 bucks for one!! Talk about a mark up!! Those decimals are in the right spot....mine = 16 bucks
Same one at "The GAS PIPE " = 169.00 bucks...
They only do 150, 400, and 1000 watt HPS.........NO 600 watters!

Did you put the seeds/clones under hps from germ? or did you use flouro for germ?

i got a little 600 and a 4" squirrel fan pulling off the light. i have to heat my room during lights on or temps stay in the mid 60's. i love my HPS. kitty loves it too.

i paid $116 just for my 600w bulb at my hydro store. i think they're getting the best of me. it is a "Hortilux".
