Why is that?I like a timer vs a speed controller to control temps/air exchange.
Those speed controllers can get pretty hot. Then again I've had timers fail, so I guess it's 6 of one.....Why is that?
If I get sloppy and don't properly train it heavily affects yield. It also makes flowering labor much more intense, because I'm basically addressing branch support issues that should have been addressed in veg. Then with all the plants crammed into the flower room correcting past mistakes are not easy. This time I've learned my lesson. I'm training hard in veg to make my life in flower much easier and more thoughtfully planned out. It's all about learning the strain, and then taming the strain how she needs to be tamed. Each one is different. Black widow and critical mass need almost no support except for the heavy colas that want to fall over due to their mass towards the end of flower.
I prefer wet trimming. The week leading up to the first day of harvest I begin stripping leaves on the plants. I remove the plant from the room on the day of harvest. Prior to removing any branches I remove the few fan leaves that remain as well as any leaves I can pull of with my fingers. By the time I chop the branch off and set it on the trim table all the wife has to do is give it a quick haircut and it's on to the drying net. It's a fairly efficient process. 2-3 days is the average. We stop for lunch and don't overdo it. We begin taking the plants that are ripe first. There are always a few that need longer to finish than the others. The plants that require more finish time get put to the back of the line and will be the last plants removed from the room for trimming. We also take weekends off from trimming. There really is no pressure. It's an understanding that my quota is 2-3 plants per day. As long as we achieve those quotas everything is easy breezy lemon squeezy. For the 7-10 days the flowers dry I clean out the flower room and perform any maintenance that needs to be done. Then I move the next batch of girls in to veg for another 3 weeks inside the flower room before the next 12/12 flip. Got a new light controller to install at the end of this cycle when the room's clear. Pretty excited about it. I hate having 4 different timers for 6 lights. Those days are almost over and I won't look back onceWhy don't you harvest them all at once, dry them, then trim them dry. IMO dry trimming is easier, and you don't have the same sort of pressure you have from wet trimming. I used to wet trim for years, and when I finally tried dry trimming, out of time necessity, I never looked back.
That's sound advice. Flowers dried too quickly are the worst. I try to keep as large of stem on the flowers as possible in the drying process to slow things down. Then after the stems snap I trim the flowers into storage containers.Dry trimming creates a better product imo..... Fan leaves slow/regulate the drying process when hung.
Interested to see this Jager monster and the yield. You're retiring it after this run?Just snagged a hand held vacuum on amazon for $33.99 to clean the leaf scraps that land allover the flower room floor. Trying to clean it all up with a bucket of water, soap, and a towel is no effing fun. Cleanliness in the flower room is extremely important to me and with as densely packed as the plants are there's no way I can get a shop vac hose in there. I tried. It was bad. I haven't seen one of these things since the 80's or early 90's. Planning to mount the charger and unit in a closet I have in the flower room. Out of the way, but easily accessible. Taking the first plant down tomorrow. One of the maui's is ready. The serious trimming starts on Friday. I suspect all of the maui's will go first followed by critical mass and pineapple express. Jager, GSC, ghost train, and black widows will all go last. Instead of flushing I'm running a ripening formula @ 450ppm.
I actually decided to keep it. I only took 1 clone because that's really all I have room for. She's just massive. I will have to hack her branches apart one at a time and in sections most likely, stack them on a tray on my dolly cart, and push it out of the room underneath the canopy. The only saving grace is it will most likely be the last plant harvested. It's just now starting to harden off. Massive flowers. I'll take lots of pics. I suspect 1.5# off of jager alone. At this point I don't think I can afford to not have her in the garden. Epic strain. Hopefully the smoke is as impressive as her growth and cola size.Interested to see this Jager monster and the yield. You're retiring it after this run?
Fire crackers! Lol. Tried & trueI'm dog dick tired from trimming and I ran out of my hash caps 3 days ago I think. I haven't had the time to make another batch, so I've been making firecrackers each night before bed. I decarb 4-5g of flower @ 240 for 40 minutes. I then pour about a tsp of liquid soy lecithin into the decarbed flower and add a healthy dose of peanut butter. Stir. Wrap. Bake @ 300 for 20 minutes. Eat. T minus 20 minutes to fucked up It's time consuming at the end of a long day, but the relief it provides is immeasurable. I sleep like a baby all through the night. I still wake up for my usual middle of the night snack and toke visits to the kitchen, but I'm very sleepy when I do get up and I very easily fall right back into a sound sleep. I think it's sacrilege that the medical industry cannot use edible cannabis oils and extracts as one of the most therapeutic sleep medications known to man due to federal prohibition. Who the fuck can't use a better night's sleep? My batch is almost done with the 20 minute cook. I toss the dish in a shallow cold water bath in the kitchen sink. Ready to consume in 5 minutes.

I know, right? I gave a few hash caps to my neighbor down the road. He shared 1 with his adult son. Dude said 1 of my hash caps was stronger than eating an entire container of gummies he got from the dispensary for $26.50. I eat 3 in the morning and 3 in the evening just to stay balanced when I have them on hand. Taking a day off from trimming today. Too fucking tired and stressed to continue. Might make some hash caps today. I really encourage you guys to give it a shot. The effects are really enjoyable and I sleep greatSo you're eating 5 g's a night? Talk about tolerance!
