Hey gb...sorry but my experience is very anti climatic. My son is a patient, was in car with me, I was a bad boy and got pulled over for speeding.
Cop said he smells pot, asks if there's any in the vehicle. Said yes, son has medical licence, looked at it,... cop wrote me a ticket and said have a good day.
 
I have read that some patients are trying to fill their 150 gram a day scripts with LPs and the LP is turning them away for not being able to fill such a large script. 150g per month is not the limit to consume per month it is the limit to what can be mailed at at time and the limit to what can be carried. If a doctor is signing 3 LP forms for 5 grams each then he is signing for 15 grams per day and he should be aware of that. It is his responsibility to understand that not the patient. Many patients coming from the MMAR have more than 5 gram per day scripts. They are not limited to 5 grams per day if they join an LP they are limited to whatever it says on their script.
 
150g per month is the limit for a 5g/day script. 4,500g per month is the max any patient can do a month.

Health Canada is saying otherwise. Talk to them specifically on this issue. They are allowing patients to have multiple documents with the same full dosage because of delivery issues from LPs.
HC desperately wants MMPR to work.
This is an unpleasant compromise for them.
They can't afford to have numerous cases of patients with delivery issues come Feb23/15

So no I think you are incorrect, presently a doc is not saying you have 15g/day if he is giving you 3 different 5g/day documents.

I was using 5g/day as an example....a patient can have 1g/day up to 150g/day

You are correct about reports of LPs not filling 150g/day orders

So HC is responsible for dealing with the scammers and fakers and liars and cheats? (I'm not saying you are one of these people) Weren't they responsible for dealing with errant dgs under the mmar? So basically, you're saying that you need access to 5g/day, but you in fact have a script(s) to potentially purchase 15g/day? Hmmph. How did you manage that? I mean I can think of how you did it but....I don't recall reading anything in the act or regs stating that the patient is responsible for regulating the amount if the script, I thought only docs could do that with the assistance and guidance of their patients.

I called HC and asked....they said I can have more than one script......so I then asked my doctor......he said yes...... Wallah

According to HC. It means I can acquire from multiple sources but my max possession remains 150 a month...so even if I signed up with 10 lp's at 5/g aday my max will still be 150
Coz even tho I have multiple lp's forms. They are actually a representation of my doctors original recommendation of 5/g a day.....
 
I don't understand why there can't just be one form for doctors to sign that all lps accept. The same thing goes with the packaging...as if I'm going to carry around a jar of pot. Wouldn't standardization make it easier to track?

I don't think its that they changed the rules.....it's more that they word things to make us confused as to what it is they are actually saying ........ie.. the paper work they gave us when getting our license. They kinda make it sound like you can't use mmj in public. When in fact, you can use it in most anywhere a smoker can...." We recommend you not blah blah "

is the lesson here for everyone to go and get" bonus" back up prescriptions? , to ensure that your chosen LP will be able to consistently and fully fill
your prescription....
because when the email arrives saying that they are unable to fill it (regardless of the reason) you will be scrambling,in an effort to get some medication....
I guess even with the black market ....people have more than one dealer.....is the logic behind it....

That's why Health Canada is allowing this.
Imagine the possible ramifications for HC at court...HC NEEDS the MMPR to succeed.

As much as they need it to work. The way things are going, it isn't going to be a short court case.

I would and have....I've seen nothing to show me that any of the lp's can actually follow through with what they say.....more like the exact opposite

Hey Hippy,

I know from all of your posts that you have a pretty firm anti-LP stance. I for one fully support the right of every individual to grow their own, regardless of what the laws say. That said, I've been talking with many different prospective small-scale LP's and the VAST majority of them have their hearts and intentions in the right place and sincerely want to help patients to the best of their abilities given the framework provided. Obviously, that framework is far from ideal, but that leads to the whole "don't hate the player, hate the game" argument. There are obviously some huge greedy corporations that are the ones making a horrible first impression on patients, but there is a big wave of small-scale, owner-operated LP's that are just dying to try and make things right for the patients. The reason I say this is that it's very easy to make sweeping generalizations regarding LP's and their motives/business practices that do not apply to the vast majority of small LPs that I've had the pleasure speaking with.
