That a bubble cloner? Do the stems stay submerged under water or are they right above it being splashed by popping bubbles?

Submerged. I think people have been using the same style of cloning forever. Mum use to take cuttings in a glass of water, this is the same principle. When I was young and broke I cloned MJ in a glass of water with daily fresh water change.

Do you use any root inoculants in DWC? If you do I suggest you stop adding any living cultures to the reservoir. It will hinder the plant to keep on developing new roots because it think it's already being feed by the fungal/bacterial cultures instead of directly uptake nutrients through the root membrane.
From my experience it's much more important to have a clean rootzone for optimal root development than adding any myco or living products. They work against each other and go against basic principles in hydro IMO. I know people will disagree on this but it's my observations and personal opinion.

What you and Curious posted above is what I use as well. Non pH'd tap with KLN is the best formula I've found for getting those older hard-to-root cuttings to root.
Once the wound heals and 'nubs' form I refil the cloner with RO water and whatr ever I have on hand. Right now I'm using Power Si, and either RE or Rapid start. Roots explode within a couple days and then double/triple in growth going forward. (zinc plays a big role here)
And the health of the mother is one of the biggest determining factor and its often overlooked. I prep my plants the day before with a good foliar feed and this shaves a few days off too.
Some Wedding Cake and GG4s getting ready to go into 1 liter pots for vegging.
Other than an assassination attempted by our resident asshole cat, they stayed pretty healthy.
The cuttings I took from first gen seed plants had adventitious roots clear up the stem.

Right now i'm using tribus which i had never tried before and i do seem to have better root growth.. but you may be on to somethign as all the plants energy seems to be going into roots and above the pot is kinda meh for the stage it's in.

Do you use the recommended rate of kln?
Thinking too much kln was my issue with the last round being that i added the soaking and not the misting rate. They were about to pop with bumps everywhere and just went into limbo, again, it seems.
Low light intensity. Decent water temps. Regular resi maintenance. Argh

Shit I'm at 2.5ml a gallon( recommended). From reading a bit into it some saying too much hormone causing callous formation and inhibiting roots.
Just dipping in clonex gel was enough to get roots in a week in a bubbler.
I usually read up as much a possible before starting a new endeavor. Here i am. Smh.
Adding fresh h20 nothing mixed, now.

I never saw much advantage with rooting hormone powders/gels/dips. just MHO

its because of how/when I transplant. I leave them in the cloner much longer than most ppl. When they have decent roots I put some nutes in there and wait until the roots will stick 3-4" out of the bottom of the net pot. When I transplant, the roots get fed through a hole in the bottom of the net pot. They tend to form a neat ball like this early on, these plants are less than 6 weeks from when they got cut off their mothers and 3 weeks in this system, but theyll start growing other large roots out of the sides of the pots soon.
