i was pretty sure he was you.

what about your moral code makes it OK to steal from your parents, but not OK to hit someone?
When have I ever said it was ok to steal from my parents? ask anyone, I'm pretty sure most people would rather have something taken from them than to have their jaw broken.

Let he who is without sin cast the fist stone.

I can see how you would think that, i should have used a new paragraph.

I guess you are the only one dumb enough to think that taking something that belongs to someone is bad as breaking their jaw.

What I actually did there was apply the 'golden rule' (do unto others as you would have done unto you). If thats true, so is the inverse, dont do unto others as you wouldn't have done to you.

Applying that, we can determine what is worse by simply putting ourself in that position, and asking "what would I prefer?"

Most people would rather lose a hundred bucks if given the choice between that and having their jaw broken.

there you go again with justification for stealing from your parents.

i never said that, by the way. apparently you reading compensation has failed you.

should we be proud of you because you stole your mom's jewelry to feed your addiction rather than punching her in the jaw and taking her cash directly?

I never equated the two, until you brought it up.

Let's put the hefty Hebrew in it for the moment.

If your wife was walking into the grocery, and I relapsed, moved to oregon, and was dead set on taking your wife's purse, would you rather I grab it and run, or punch her then take it?

No need to respond, we all know the answer to this question. The two are not the same, and you are merely attempting to confuse the issue and make me look bad by pointing out that I was once a junky and stole from my parents.

No fucking shit. I wear that on my sleeve dude. I speak to people about addiction in public, in high schools, or anywhere the situation warrants or I am asked. It was one of the first things I said about myself here.

In other words, it's no secret. I'm not embarrassed by it. Hell, in a way I'm proud of it. It's part of who I am.

I guess it's the same as me calling your wife the hefty Hebrew. You know she is fat, you like her that way.

Pot meet kettle, as it were.

yet you judge others so readily and quickly.

weren't you just praising jesus the other day?

didn't he say something, which you repeated tonight, about those without sins casting stones first?

basically i am pointing out that you are a hypocrite (in addition to other unflattering qualities).

i am glad that kynes and desert dude and others share your opinion way more often than they share mine.

they don't say much to you, but they sure have a ton to say to el tib!

I have my faults. I make judgments. I tend not to make judgments about the moral quality of others. Unlike you, I am fully aware that I am an imperfect being. You make more posts than anyone I have ever seen from a position of moral superiority, all while exhibiting the qualities you attempt to disparage.

you followed up this sentence with three judgments about my moral quality, and this discussion was spurred by you making a comment on another person's moral quality, all after stating earlier tonight that he is without sin can cast the first stone.

that's funny.
