Ya, I meant too throw it in. My bad
I was wondering why I find morphine doesn't help qith any pain I have regardless whay it is. ( even if i I.V) while one norco can help me out greatly.
well first, whats causing your pain?
and how simple of an answer are you looking for?
imo in a perfect world the question would really be
morphine vs hydromorphone but unfortunately (imo) there are other metabolites each with different affinity ratios and distribution in the brain...and again with further metabolites having different properties as well
i assume your wanting to know for actual pain relief you can perhaps discuss with your pcp (you have a good pain management doc?)
so ill do my best shedding light here
on what may be most beneficial
Asking for a pain patient perspective as I have a lot of pain problems.
Also out of curiousity why is it then oxy has an energetic feel to it while heroin gets me going. Not even dose wise, just in general a oxy actuallu gives me a big energy boost like blow while still sedated.
thats a *much easier question to answer.. of course keep in mind we dont, or think we know. ALOT about whats really going on in your body. the stimulant affect is more so seen in patients with higher opiate tolerance as its usually counteracted (as far as perception goes) by sedation
in layman's terms.... thats what dopamine will do for ya....
in fancy talk...but still easy enough to understand atleast vaguely for most, just ignore areas of the brain i guess
*current evidence*, shows shared mechanism of stimulant reward and opiate reward/affect...,. mediated through dopamine containing cells of the ventral tegmental area and their fiber projections to the cells of the nucleus accumbens.
opiates activate these cells.... through receptors imbedded in the dopaminergic cell membrane, or on sensory neuron terminals that synapse on the dopaminergic cell bodies or dendrites.
Cocaine, amphetamine and othwr stims act at the terminals of the dopaminergic fibers to nucleus accumbens (not talking other areas) as well.
This shared activation of the dopaminergic affects to the nucleus accumbens accounts for the stimulating and the rewarding effects of both stimulants and opiates...partially atleast
why this has this affect is a bit longer of a response...
Thanks for your time answering in advance. : 3
