Well, the rooms are as done as they're going to get for a while. I will eventually make the shelves adjustable and will make the whole op E&F with the exception of the mother plants which I'll keep using soil for and they will just sit on the floor when they get flowered. I have it all planned out but need to focus on some other stuff for a while so I cleaned everything up and put all of the tools away for now.

I also need to wait until the autos finish before I can start making it hydro.

Right now I've got 4 mother plants vegging (White Widow, Jack Herer, Cataract Kush and Headband).

I've got a bunch of clones that I potted over the last couple days (4-5 Afgan Kush, 4-5 Raspberry Cough and the main stem from the WW). There's still the main stem from the Jack Herer clone and a few other Afgan clones in the dome.

Thanks for stopping in,
Dez

Oh, and dude didn't come through with the light for me so I guess it's a good thing I just put those clones in party cups for now. I can fit a bunch of party cups under the lights I'm already using.

Yeah except the JH clone I got came with spider mites, dammitt!

Now I'm spraying them all down every few days. It looks like they're gone but I'll keep spraying them for another week or two to make sure and then I'll start being better about hitting them all once each week to keep them away. I was being good about it for a while and they stayed away but I hadn't done it in a couple weeks when I brought the clones home and now the girls are paying for it.

I did top the two clones I brought home and stuck the cuttings in RW. The White Widow has already rooted and been potted in a 1gal pot. The JH one has rooted too but I'll wait until tomorrow when it'll be better and then I'll pot it too. I'll veg these two for 2-3 weeks and then put them in the flower room with a couple other seedlings that should be ready about that time.

My buddy came through and hooked me up with this 6 bulb t8 fixture and 6 bulbs today, all new in the box. There's 4 bulbs @ 6500K and 2 @ 3000K in it and I put in place of the 2 t5HO fixtures because I needed more square footage of light since there's so many plants vegging now. I moved the shelf units around a bit so that I can get close to having an even canopy with all these kids being different sizes and in different size containers.

I had a Purple Haze seed pop up today too so I'm pretty stoked ATM. I've got 2 DOG seeds that I'm waiting on to sprout so hopefully they do the do soon.

I threw in a pic of the lolliepops and brownies I made today and some bud porn from a couple of my Afgan plants that are 4 weeks of flower I think now.

I've decided I'd better separate the autos since the Haze is completely overtaking the RR above the pots. Below the pots the roots are starting to mix together a bit too so I'm going to put each of them in their own 5gal DWC setup in the room. I need to go buy a few airstones though since all I have are the 12" long ones and they're too long to sit on the bottom of a 5gal bucket.

Thinking I'll try something I saw someone else do which is put two of the 1" round ball shaped ones connected to a 'T' in each bucket. His worked really well so it should be a safe bet. Might go ahead and make the bubble cloner I've been wanting to make while I'm at it too. I'll build a smaller one though out of a bucket instead of a tote like I had originally planned as long as I can get 10 clones in it somehow. 10 is the magic # for me now, 10 clones at a time is what I'm looking to put into flower. I want a short veg and then flower them. I'll save the floor for flowering the moms after I get the cuttings I want from them.

I separated the autos this morning and they now each have their own 5gal bucket to live in. I had to tear a few roots in order to get them out since a few had become intertwined pretty good. I was able to untangle most of it but had to tear a few, not too bad though and now the plants have a little breathing room instead of the Haze smothering the RR.

I was checking on when I germ'd them and such so I know where I stand in their cycle and it appears they are around 40 days old so right around the mid point according to the breeders info. The haze is supposed to go 80 and the RR is supposed to go 70 and the Haze is right at the max height they say it'll grow to under 'optimal conditions' (100cm). Whatever...I highly doubt my conditons fall into that category, LOL.

It fell over once during lights on and was resting against the cooltube right where the bulb is when I found it. Don't know how ling it was like that but thank god it was the lower light since it stays a lot cooler than the top one. It still did some damage to that bud and the leaves around it but the bud is still growing just fine. It just has a small bleached spot on the top.

Sounds like you dodged a bullet with the falling plant dez! also sounds like your locking things down pretty good bro, must feel good :-)
Im thinking of trying hydro for the first time and decided to go with a dwc, just gotta find a simple nute line that works well for my first time. any suggestions?

:peace:

I don't have any experience with anything other than FoxFarm so far. It was readily available from a nursery nearby when I set up my first grow so that's what I got and have been happy with it. My only complaint with FF (and it's a small one) is it separates from the water a bit in the res in DWC and you get a layer of nutes sitting on the bottom that doesn't get used until the roots hit the bottom and then it can burn because it's concentrated. I can show you a pic of my Haze auto that had this happen. It looks like it's mainly the Big Bloom due to color and texture. If you only use the Hydro Grow Big during veg it will stay mixed very well and you'll get great growth rates in DWC. Their chart shows to add the Big Bloom though so I've been adding it.

I've since tried out a few hydro shops around and settled on one that's pretty close, it's owner operated and the owner is very knowledgeable and helpful. He carries just about everything under the sun so I figured when I get low this next time I'll try something new but haven't decided yet which ones to try. I only know that I won't be using AN due to it being pricey and I've heard him tell other people that from his testing he's concluded it's overpriced for how well it works.

I still have quite a bit left but it goes kind of quick with hydro as compared to soil since with soil you can get away with no nutes during veg and with hydro you're mixing up a res full instead of just enough to water your plants. Something to consider I guess before you switch.

And thank you for the kind words. I'm pretty happy with things right now and if I can get the hydro set up in the flower room I'll be very happy. If the part I have on backorder comes in I'll be stoked because then I can show you guys what I made. Maybe it's not as cool as I think it is but then again, maybe it is...

Thanks bro. BTW it wasn't the SLH that hit the light but a Haze auto. My Sour Grapes was a lot stronger smelling than my SLH.

I'll have to swing by your grow to check it out.

hey dez im on my 5th hydro grow [1 bubbleponic & 4 e&f] i use gh-floranova keep it simple feeding schedule i did 3 grows with the 3-part flora series but bought out another grower & floranova was part of the deal now i prefer it to the 3-part stuff after this harvest im gonna upgrate to 4x4 tub & 12 plants to get the most out of my 1000w light ive finaly got it dialed in to my liking now its time to kick it up a notch ive got countless hours of enjoyment out of my grows probably saving money by spending more time at home 1 of my outdoor slh is turning purple ill get a pic tomorrow youll be amazed at how fast hydro grows youre pretty much getting it all into place i cant wait to see it all in action

I've done one round of E&F so far and really liked the simplicity and growth rates. Now with the autos, I've got a DWC grow under my belt (well almost, it's only half way through) and like it for the same reasons. The only thing I don't like about DWC is you have to top off each res every day as opposed to topping off one res every 2-3 days with E&F. The advantage to DWC though is you don't need big trays that take up all of the floor space, making it possible to have a large room and still be able to get to the plants in the back. Since I've gone vertical I will be using long skinny trays on the shelves or piping. I may put a small tray I have in the back corner where the Raspbery cough is now once the autos are done and there's more floor space available with 3-4 plants in it. It gets plenty of light when both 600s are on so they should grow well.
Thanks for the nute suggestion BTW.
