When ur looking through a loupe mine has a light attached to it but i heard that when the trichs shine in the light that means they are still clear correct? And the cloudy trichs wont shine in the light

You'll be able to tell cloudy from clear with a loupe pretty easily.
Short (small head)--> tall small head--> large head--> some turn cloudy--> most turn cloudy--> some start turning amber.
Who you talk to and what you like determines ripeness (IMO), because different breeders like different types of trichomes and their amounts. I think DJ short suggest all puffy heads that are clear and slighty starting to get cloudy.

If you can see through them they are clear.

If you cant see through them and they appear milky or cloudy, then they are cloudy.

If you are unsure what are looking at.. keep waiting and you will see amber ones.

I usually harvest when I see a few ambers with out moving the scope around while spot checking a few buds on the plant.

I have not used the shine trick to check them before, good luck.

Cloudy trichs have a milky appearance, though they may shine a bit too-- depending on lighting. Clear trichs look like little crystal balls. They also tend to be smaller than their cloudy counterparts.

Lots of images on Google. Try 'Cloudy trichs' followed by 'Clear trichs' and compare the images.

We all get that way, just a different questions regarding some other aspect, even though we knew the answer. We just wanted to be sure because it was our own.

Not that we know more in a sense, just have had the experience of seeing them over and over again. Give yourself a good few grows under your belt and you'll be teaching others too:)

itll get get to the point where you won't even need the loupe anymore to tell when it's finished you'll just know by sight of the plant.
